Our Shop Local Brantford-Brant program has officially launched!
Please look to engage however suits your business and personal interests! From learning about our great locally owned and operated businesses to allocating a portion of your holiday spending dollars specifically to our retail and restaurant businesses in Brantford, Brant, and Six Nations. You may also want to think about diving into advertising, video, social media, or MyBrantford feature within our campaign! Contact Olivia at olivia@brcc.ca for more information.
Our Rapid Screening program continues to draw renewals and new businesses, while our Wine, Women, and Shopping Event gears up for its 15th Anniversary on November 24th, and our Annual Holiday Open House plans are developing to be a great event at the Rope Factory Event Hall on December 7th.
Thank you to everyone who responded to last week’s Minimum Wage Poll, results are included below. A diversity of opinions, reflecting the wide range of employers, sectors, and economic pressures represented by our membership. ChamberTV last week featured President John Tibbits of Conestoga College, discussing the college’s response to COVID-19, post-secondary education, and its plans for growth in Brantford and Brant. This week, Shredding Barriers is featured, Thursday at 6:00 pm on RogersTV, and next week we look forward to welcoming Wilfrid Laurier University and an update on their operations.
Finally, please note our Estate Planning webinar featuring Caitlin Turner of Waterous, covering key updates in estate law this week. It will be recorded if you are unable to make it live.
The Chamber will be pausing work at 11:00 am on Remembrance Day.

- I fully support the increase - 21.3%
- I don't support the increase as it is too much too soon - 10.2%
- I support the increase, but it is too quick and poor timing for January - 15.7%
- I support the increase but it should be higher to the living wage - 17.3%
- I do not support the increase as it is a heavy increase in wages for my business 10.2%

Significant changes are being implemented on January 1, 2022, which will make a review of your Will a good idea. This is particularly so if you will be marrying, have separated from a spouse, or would like flexibility in how money directory to minors can be spent. Other topics include Surprises! Good at Christmas, Bad at the Reading of a Will and Even the Best Laid Plans

The climate crisis is a growing priority for businesses, governments, and individuals – and Ontario is well-positioned to lead in the global green economy. Under the banner of the Ontario Economic Summit, the Ontario Climate Action Series will take place from November 2021 to Spring 2022. Chamber of Commerce Brantford-Brant is pleased to partner with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) on this Series.
Objectives
This series will examine the impact of climate change on communities & businesses, showcase ongoing leadership within Ontario, and encourage governments to enable further investment and innovation in climate action. Throughout the series, we will demonstrate how Ontario can leverage its clean energy system, innovative cleantech sector, talented workforce, and other competitive advantages to lead the global green economy.
