The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ - June 22, 2025
| |
The first reading presents the mysterious character of Melchizedek, the king priest of Salem - what we know as Jerusalem. The Gospel reading tells the story of the loaves and the fishes. From Abraham and Jerusalem to the Covenant of Christ recounted in the first letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians, the love of God fills all of these moments, and continues to be known by us through Communion and through the liturgy. How do we respond to this love, this covenant, this unbreakable friendship, which is life for us? (liturgy.com)

That includes providing financial support for today's needs -- and building a firm financial foundation for St. Wendelin's tomorrow. Your IRA can be a tool to help you do this. If you are 70 ½ years old or older, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution today for up to $100,000 from your IRA directly to your parish. It will not count as taxable income, and it can satisfy your “required minimum distribution”. Looking to the future, consider naming our parish as a beneficiary IRA. Speak with your financial advisor. Thank you!
