On Monday, Sept 12th, we started the 13th year of the Men of Simplicity (MOS) discipleship journey. We had 100 men from more than 12 different churches. We have 37 men meeting here in Gresham with the other men gathering at different churches and home locations to join us via Zoom. The majority of the men are from Oregon, Washington, and Idaho with a few additional men from California and Texas. These men meet weekly for biblical teaching, accountability, discussion, fellowship, and prayer.
The goal is for each man to grow in living simply and purely devoted to Christ with a vision that through their lives and leadership the next generation, even a generation not yet born, will know and put their faith in Christ (See 2 Cor. 11:3 and Psalm 78:1-8).
Our teaching focus this fall is Finishing Strong. It begins with a six-week study of Romans 6 where men will learn that in Christ they are free from the power of sin, that sin is no longer master over them, and how to walk in newness of life. This will be followed by practical study on becoming a man who, like God, establishes specific goals and is faithful to complete them. We will next examine the lives of two biblical kings: Uzziah who started well but finished poorly and Manasseh who started poorly but finished well. We will close out the fall term examining Hebrews 12:1-4 where men will learn how to run to win.
Please remember us each Monday in your prayers!
