Skiing Aspen Snowmass
Attention Basalt Chamber Members
Important 2019-20 Chamber Discount Ski Pass Program update
Chamber pass sales will NOT start until August 12, 2019
Dear Chamber Member,

While the amazing 2018-19 ski season is not over yet, today Aspen Skiing Company (ASC) made two big announcements with regards to next winter's (2019-20) passes.

Here is what you need to know:

  1. ASC is having a Spring Pass Sale. It only impacts standard 2019-20 passes (i.e.: non-Chamber/non-special discounted) purchased before May 31, 2019.
  2. All 2019-20 Premier Adult, Chamber, Senior, and Parent Passes include a complimentary Ikon Base Pass (see details below).

Impact to the Chamber Pass Program:
  • The ONLY change: 2019-20 Premier Chamber season passes will include an IKON Base pass.
  • Everything else remains the same - Chamber Passes go on sale starting on August 12, 2019.
What does this mean?
In short - if you remain a Chamber member, it makes the most sense to wait until the Chamber discounted pass season begins in mid-August in order to purchase your season passes.

The ASC Spring Pass Sale is intended for people who buy a traditional, regular season pass (i.e. full-price), not through a discounted pass program, such as the Chamber's.

Know someone who isn't a member yet ? The information below may help convince them that it is worth joining!
The math - it pays to be a member
While 2019-20 Chamber Pass Program prices have not been set, ASC typically increases the prices 5%. Assuming a worst case scenario (high-end price increase of 10%), here is the potential difference in price for the 2019-20 Premier Pass:

$1,528 | Premier Chamber Pass (based on a 10% increase on 2018-19 prices)
vs.
$1,899  | Standard ASC Premier Pass during the current Spring Sale

Based on these assumptions, Chamber members will still save money through the Chamber Pass Program!

-----------

Now for the Double Flex (twice a week) pass - Again, assuming a worst case scenario (high-end price increase of 10%), here is the potential difference:

$1,363 | Double Flex Chamber Pass (assuming 10% increase on 2018-19 prices)
vs.
$1,539  | Standard ASC Double Flex Pass during the current Spring Sale

-----------

Finally, the Flex (once a week) pass - assuming a worst case scenario (high-end price increase of 10%), here is the potential difference:

$995 | Flex Chamber Pass (assuming 10% increase on 2018-19 prices)
vs.
$1,049  | Standard ASC Flex Pass during the current Spring Sale

REQUIRED DISCLOSURE: The above math utilizes assumptions based on information provided by Aspen Skiing Company. It is NOT a guarantee of pricing for the 2019-20 season. The official 2019-20 pass prices have not been released at this time. The Chamber is not responsible for any bad pass decision making; this is to help you make an educated guess. We do not have a crystal ball.
