Shelter Island Open & Moussa Drame Tennis Appreciation Day 2022

A stunning day full of fun, an energy buzzing with excitement starting with kids clinic running through Pro-am matches, adult clinic and Shelter Island Open championship finals. It was a jam-packed afternoon, ending with a celebration of our valued customers and winning teams.

The championship matches were intense, each player determined to the last point. Taking the singles title in a tough battle was Arpan Podduturi, beating Tim Cairns in a tight match. Men's Doubles title goes to Isaac Halpern and Adam Cohen who played against Daniel Schonfeld and Robin Schneiderman. The mixed doubles was a nail biter with husband and wife duo Howard and Carol Helene winning , Lisa Vella and Adam Shopkorn coming in a close second. Women’s Doubles ended with Susan Abdalla and Ingrid Bateman carrying the title home winning all their matches throughout the summer.

Finally our Pro-Am winner David Trugerman and Kelly (Tennis Pro) played a great doubles match to secure the title against Gui (Tennis Pro) and Caroline Breitweiser.
Closing the day, Guests of Honor Jim McNabb and Evan Guillermin handed out trophies and prizes to all the enthusiastic participants.
A picturesque backdrop of the Dering Harbor sunset ended the evening, enjoying a delicious authentic Moroccan dinner prepared by Bouchra Dramé.
