🐕Class Reminders🐕

Do’s

  • Wear ONLY closed-toed, comfortable shoes. Absolutely no flip-flops, sandals, or high heels, due to safety.
  • Bring a treat pouch or apron with room for different proteins.
  • Bring a six-foot leather, biothane, rope, or nylon leash in good repair.
  • Pre-package and freeze different proteins during the week. Use Ziploc bags to separate your proteins. Always bring more than you think you will need! For example, soft treats such as hotdog cut into bite-size pieces, soft commercial treats in small pieces, and fresh protein like beef or chicken.
  • For nervous dogs, bring a blanket or towel from home.
  • For pulling dogs, use a martingale collar and front closing harness. Clip the collar and martingale together in the front to give you more control.
  • Bring your “YES”s to reward your dog. “YES” is a marker word we use to let your dog know they performed the correct behavior.

Do Not's

  • NO “Flexi-Leads” on campus!
  • Absolutely NO poo-bags hanging from leashes!
  • Do not feed your dog a meal right before class. They need to be a little hungry for all the tasty treats!
  • Do not let your dog contact any other dog on-leash or without Julie’s permission while on campus.
  • Do not bring any female dogs who are in season to class. Please check with Julie for rescheduling. Again, this is for the safety of all of our students, including yours!

We can’t wait to see you and your pups!

Help Us Find Training Locations!

Do you know of a real-world environment we could use for our Advanced Public Manners, Obedience, & Service Dog Classes? We need stores (preferably with AC) where we will be allowed to come inside and train. Our teams are well-mannered, and no reactive dogs are included in these classes.

I am licensed and insured and would be happy to pay a fee to train at their location. It's getting harder to find places that allow groups to train in their stores, even dog-friendly ones. If you know of a venue that would be great for our teams to train at, drop us a tip at dogsplaytraining@gmail.com
