If you cannot attend one of these sessions, we encourage you to submit written input via email at [email protected] (please refer to the Family # in your input). All of the input we receive will be sent to the Archdiocese for consideration of the final Parish Family Groupings to be announced in January 2024. In preparing to think, pray, and discern your input, please take note of the two specific questions we would like you to respond to:

  1. What concerns do I have about the proposed family grouping? What challenges might this pose? Why?
  2. What hopes do I see in the proposed family grouping? What opportunities or possibilities might this offer? Why?

A few initial comments to take note of:

  • This input is aimed only at the question of the groupings themselves. It's not about what may transpire down the road about ministry, Mass times, facilities, priest assignments, etc.
  • St. Joseph and Sts. Peter and Paul are personal parishes for the specific ministry of the Latin Mass and Polish Mass communities. They are pastored by religious communities from outside the Archdiocese. Thus, they are not grouped along with other parishes.
  • The Jesuits have decided to no longer provide Jesuit pastors for St. Leo or Sacred Heart parishes. The order's only Jesuit parish will be St. Joseph Parish on Seattle's Capitol Hill.
  • This draft family arrangement would end the five-year grouping of Saint Patrick and Holy Cross parishes.

I look forward to your input and advice as we move forward!

Fr. David Mulholland

Pastor
