Pastor Bruce’s “Sabbath days” are Monday and Friday

Greetings Church!

Throughout the season of Lent, we’ve been exploring the theme “Called to be more.” Lent is a season for wandering through wilderness, exploring, wondering, and questioning. At the end of our Lenten journey is the Good Friday story of the cross, the place where we see God’s love most fully revealed as Jesus lays down his life for our sake.

And then comes Easter. Easter is the ultimate answer to all the questions we’ve asked. Easter is the climax of the story, the moment when we see the proof that Jesus is who he is. It’s the proof of death’s defeat. The empty tomb declares that the cross was God’s moment of triumph, rather than the defeat it appeared to be. We gather together to sing in celebration, joyfully proclaiming, “Christ is risen indeed! Alleluia!”

And yet, Easter brings up another question: So what? What do we do with the news that Jesus is alive? Where do we go from here? How do we respond to the promise that death has been defeated, the promise that God’s kingdom has broken into our world?

Church, this is our question to answer. As individual believers and as a community of faith, how will we react to Easter? Will we allow the good news of the resurrection to shape the way we live? Will we respond to the grace God has given us by inviting others to know the hope we have, sharing the gospel, and loving our neighbors in Jesus’ name?

May the Holy Spirit move us to action as we live out our faith.

Pressing On!

Disciples Women .

† Working together as women of faith †

Disciples Women’s Ministries is a conduit for diverse connections empowering each woman to find her voice and live out her call. These activities are open to all women whether you can attend once or regularly.

Our monthly small group meetings offer the opportunity to connect with other

women. We also seek to serve beyond these groups with fundraisers, Open Door

Saturday speakers, hosting special fellowships, and participation in community

events.

Spring is the perfect season to reach out and participate in a program for the first

time, bring a fresh perspective to a program you have been a part of for years, step

We are a satellite food pantry for CROS (Christians Reaching Out to Society) ministry. Qualified participants are be able to pick up food at our church on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30 to 11:00.

As you know, hunger is a big problem in our community and this is a great way for us to help feed people, not only food, but also hope, reminding them that others care. In order for this to happen we need volunteers, who, after being trained by CROS personnel, will assist people as they come to collect food.

In addition to sharing food, we can share a warm welcome, and a smile. You must fill out a form and turn it in to CROS before you will be able to participate. We are still collecting food donations to CROS at the church and we are grateful to others who give to the Migrant Family Ministries.

Many people are blessed by your generosity.

Thank you!

Church isn’t just about religion. It’s about a community experience. Be a part of our community experience even when you are unable to attend in person. Our services are published online typically on Sunday afternoon.
