Collaborations with Salumayag

Youth Collective for Forests Underway

We're thrilled to announce a dynamic new collaboration that's all about nurturing seeds of wisdom and growth.

We will be sending our very own Harry Paulino and Manong Marcario (one of BASS’ IP leaders) to support the existing seed stewards curriculum that our new Philippines Board Member, Robert Mansalo-on Cahapon is leading in Bukidnon, Mindanao with Salumayag Youth Collective for Forests.

Salumayag, is an indigenous youth and women-led initiative that empowers upland communities in the stewardship of their ancestral lands through regenerative practices and narratives.

The Bukidnon Seed Stewards Project is a flagship project of the Salumayag Youth Collective for Forests. This project is based in Sto. Domingo, Quezon, Bukidnon, a Manobo-Kulamanen community that has a long history of ecological, social, and economic disadvantages, yet it stands tall as a testament of resilience. It's a community ready to embrace regenerative practices, restore their ecological balance, and craft narratives of strength and revival.
