PALS SOCIAL ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMS
PALS social enhancement programs are provided Spring and Fall. All groups have a limited number of individuals per semester. Lessons build upon one another. Attendance is mandatory through the semester, typically every other week for a total of 8 sessions. Individuals should be recommended by their coordinator and may require an interview to be admitted. Programs are offered in several counties.

If you are interested contact your UCF CARD Autism Disorder Specialist or email PALS at [email protected].

Fall sessions will begin in August 2022.
Eight-12 is a social emotional regulation interactive program for individuals, 8-12 years old, with ASD, registered with UCF CARD, to become flexible thinkers, team players, and problem solvers while increasing social interactive skills to communicate effectively with others, establish friendships and work on expressive/receptive language skills to carry on conversations.

This program is best suited for individuals that are interested in attending a group to make friends, have good communication skills, no aggressive behaviors, does not require additional support in a group.
Teen Autism Group (TAG) is designed for adolescents (13-17) with ASD, registered with UCF-CARD, to practice social, work and self-advocacy skills in a fun and relaxing atmosphere with activities that build on one another. This is an excellent opportunity for teens to make lasting friendships and be provided with social skill feedback by facilitators. Participants should be independent in their toileting, no aggressive behaviors, not require 1 to 1 support, and be able to effectively communicate in a group setting.
Level Up- is a Transition Program designed for individuals registered with UCF CARD, ages 18-24, to provide intervention to students leaving high school, entering college, or moving onto adulthood to successfully become self-dependent with necessary employment skills and increased self-management. Level Up follows a curriculum for “adulting” paired with practical applications to practice skills in natural environments. To increase motivation, the program provides incentives. Best suited for those that do not require 1:1 support, good communication skills, wants to make friends and eventually live on own or with room-mate.
