Businesses Save Big in Braintree with BELD

One of the largest business communities south of Boston is our hometown of Braintree. At BELD we are proud to power every business in town and support their success.

“A thriving business community keeps electric rates low for everyone,” said Bill Bottiggi, BELD’s general manager. “We want to get the word out that BELD’s very low electric rates make Braintree an attractive place to open a business.”

Here’s how BELD delivers savings and reliability to Braintree’s commercial customers.

BELD is community-owned and not-for-profit. We invest every dollar in our infrastructure and resources to ensure the power never goes out for long in Braintree, if at all. Any savings are returned to our customers, not to shareholders.

Braintree has has had its own power plant since 1892. While we do purchase power from New England’s regional grid, we also sell into it, which makes our power plant a major financial asset for the town.

More commerce equals more savings. Cost advantages are significant when we supply power to more businesses in town. Our costs are spread over a large amount of businesses which keep rates low for everyone.

*Based on the average small-business customers monthly usage of 2,400 kWh times the published rates at time of print

Give the gift of Warmth

During these uncertain times, thousands of local households are facing the question, “heat or eat?”. BELD is presently assisting those in need through various giving programs. You can also help a Massachusetts family suffering from a serious illness or the loss of a job by making a contribution to the Good Neighbor Energy Fund.

Please “Give the Gift of Warmth” by donating online www.magoodneighbor.org or by simply sending a check payable to “Good Neighbor Energy Fund” to the Massachusetts Good Neighbor Energy Fund, c/o The Salvation Army, 25 Shawmut Road, Canton, MA 02021-1408.

Your tax deductible donation goes straight to the Fund and your contribution assists a Massachusetts household with the payment of a month’s energy expense.

On behalf of families in need, thank you.
