Please join us for a not-to-be-missed concluding weekend to Platform 2024: A Delicate Ritual, curated by Kyle Abraham!
The award-winning choreographer (who is one of Paper Magazine's best and boldest theater-makers!!!) thoughtfully paired artists in a process of artistic and intergenerational exchange via live and recorded conversations, practice, and performance.
“With each of these carefully selected pairings, for the live events and the print catalogue, I’ve posed more prompts — questions on location in relationship with healing, connections to home, water, ritual, prayer, and love in a creative practice,” Abraham writes.
The third and final performance pairing is Vinson Fraley and Bebe Miller, who'll each present new work, June 6-8.
A former member of A.I.M. by Kyle Abraham and the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company, multi-media artist Vinson Fraley shares Pneuma, which translates to “soul” and “air in motion.” The work celebrates life, reflects on loss, and engages in a ritual of returning to embodiment through voice, movement, text, and music. Indifferent Forest is a new work developed by pioneering dance and film artist Bebe Miller, with Michelle Boulé, Angie Hauser, and Darrell Jones. Miller, Hauser, and Jones perform in this Danspace Project iteration. TICKETS
On Saturday, June 8, join renowned dancer, actor, teacher Jason Rodriguez for a master class in the style of Kevin Wynn, whose mentorship, friendship, and influence is far-reaching in this Platform and beyond. REGISTER
Directly following the class, stop by at our signature series, Conversations Without Walls, for three distinct live conversations between sculptor/installation artist Abigail DeVille and choreographer Jaamil Olawale Kosoko, composer Samora Pinderhughes and curator Kyle Abraham, and choreographers Bebe Miller and Vinson Fraley. Free and open to all! RSVP
