CDC Endorses ACIP Vaccine Recommendations

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its adult and child immunization schedules to apply individual-based decision-making to COVID-19 vaccination and recommend that toddlers receive protection from varicella (chickenpox) as a standalone immunization rather than in combination with measles, mumps, and rubella vaccination.

House of Delegates is fast approaching!

Next week, the 2025 House of Delegates will resume business on Saturday, Oct. 18 in Hershey. Any voting delegates who are looking to make any amendments to a resolution during business at HOD, please complete the long amendment form to have your wording ready.

If you'll be joining us in person, we have a full schedule of events beginning Friday, October 17 and continuing through the weekend. There will be a variety of CME sessions available, including poster contest judging for medical students and residents.

We’ll also host a town hall lunch with our Board members, an open forum on unionization, and a panel discussion focused on political advocacy.

Guest speaker at the WPS Annual Business Meeting

All interested PAMED members are invited to hear guest speaker, Dr. Wendy Dean at the WPS annual business meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. The topic is "Reframing Distress: Why Moral Injury Matters" which will discuss that as healers a promise is made, when entering the profession, to put patients' needs first. Learn about moral injury, what it is and what drives it and how to stand up, together, for better.

Bridging Medicine & Law: Joint Medical/Legal Conference

The Pennsylvania Medical Society and Pennsylvania Bar Association are joining together to host an educational conference designed for attorneys and physicians to learn together.
