COKO Website Relaunch

After months of planning and development, the College is excited to announce the launch of its brand new website! With a fresh look, modern user-friendly design, and improved navigation, the new site makes it easier than ever for kinesiologists to find the resources they need and for the public to learn more about the profession. We’re thrilled to finally share it with you.

Key updates include:

  • Streamlined menus and improved accessibility
  • Enhanced search and navigation features
  • Optimized for all devices – a smoother experience on your desktop, tablet or mobile device.

You’re invited to visit and explore the updated site at www.coko.ca. Your feedback is incredibly valuable us as we continue to refine and improve. We can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

Importance of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

All regulated health professionals in Ontario are required to participate in continuing professional development (CPD) activities to keep their knowledge and skills current.

At the COKO, a self-directed approach to learning is encouraged. While there is no set number of required CPD hours or credits and no formal approval needed for activities, registrants are required to develop an individual learning plan as part of their Self-Assessment and to maintain a portfolio documenting CPD activities that align with their plan. Kinesiologists should choose activities based on their personal goals and reflect on how they impact their practice.

Exam Development

The College is committed to ensuring the quality and reliability of our entry-to-practice exams, and the development process is always ongoing. The Item Writing Committee met for a two-day session in January to develop new exam content reflecting entry-level practice standards and best practices.

Our work doesn’t stop here — planning for the next writing session is already underway with the next meeting in March! The Committee will continue to develop, review, and refine questions to maintain the exam's integrity and validity.

Attending Public Council Meetings

Did you know that members of the public can attend Council meetings?

Council provides governance and oversight, ensuring the College is fulfilling its legislated mandate by setting the strategic direction and making decisions in the public interest. The next Council meeting is March 31, 2025, where Council will consider amendments to the CKO By-laws, revisions to the Privacy Code and the Committee Slate, and a recommendation for approval of the 2024 College Performance Management Framework.

Email communications@coko.ca if you would like to attend the upcoming meeting on March 31, 2025.
