July 2025

COKO is seeking feedback from current and former members to help us better fulfill our public protection mandate and achieve the goals outlined in our 2025–2030 Strategic Plan.

We invite you to share your experiences, insights, and perspectives as a Registered Kinesiologist. Your feedback is vital to our efforts to:

·        Increase public awareness,

·        Enhance communication channels with various system partners,

·        Foster interdisciplinary partnerships, and

·        Influence collaborative policies in the public interest.

Welcoming New and Returning Council Members

As we wrap up the 2025 Council Elections, we are pleased to welcome the newly elected and returning Council members who will begin their three-year terms this September. We look forward to their leadership and valuable contributions to COKO and our public protection mandate.

Reminder: 2025 Annual Renewal – deadline August 31

Kinesiologists registered in the General and Inactive Class must renew their registration between July 1 and August 31, 2025.

Renewing on time helps ensure uninterrupted care for your clients and reflects your continued commitment to safe, ethical, and high-quality practice. To avoid late fees and potential service interruptions, please renew by August 31, 2025.

Seeking Registered Kinesiologists to join Competency and Item Writing Session – extended deadline August 15

We are updating the Essential Competencies of Practice for Kinesiologists in Ontario—a foundational document that supports key COKO functions like self-assessment, peer and practice reviews, professional standards, and complaint evaluations. To ensure these competencies continue to reflect the evolving scope of kinesiology practice, we are inviting experienced Registered Kinesiologists to participate in a Competency and Item Writing Session.

Mandatory e-Learning Modules

As part of the Quality Assurance program, all kinesiologists registered in the General Class are required to complete the mandatory e-Learning modules at least once during their registration with the College.

If you need to complete the Prevention of Sexual Abuse e-learning module and the Ethics and Professionalism e-Learning module, you will receive an email with detailed instructions on how and when to access and complete them by August 15.

Questions? Please contact Manager, Professional Practice: professionalpractice@coko.ca or 416-961-7000 ext. 104.
