November 2025

To help ensure your patients and clients receive safe, high quality Kinesiology care and can make informed, confident decisions about their health, we created a short, anonymous survey to help us understand how much they know about:

  • The important role Registered Kinesiologists play in health care, and
  • COKO’s role in protecting Ontarians by ensuring the safe practice of Kinesiology.

We also created a survey poster and invite you to share it in your practice setting. Your support will help us improve communication and raise public awareness about Registered Kinesiologists and how COKO protects Ontarians.

Are you on top of your Individual Learning Plan?

As part of a Registered Kinesiologist’s Self-Assessment and Continuing Professional Development, you are required to create Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) to keep your skills and knowledge up-to-date. It has been almost one year since the last self-assessment cycle, now it’s a good time to review your ILPs.

Renewing your Professional Liability Insurance

Professional liability insurance (PLI) for many Registered Kinesiologists expires on December 31 each year. If you are registered in the general class, you must have valid PLI that meets COKO’s requirements, regardless of whether you are currently employed or practicing within the scope of kinesiology practice.

If your insurance will be expiring, or your policy or provider has changed, please make sure to submit your updated PLI coverage to COKO.

Upcoming Council Meeting – December 1

COKO Council meets at least four times a year to discuss regulatory matters and make decisions in the public interest. The next public Council meeting will be held on December 1, 2025, and everyone is welcome to observe. If you're interested in learning more about COKO’s functions and staying informed about regulatory updates, you can RSVP to observe the meeting.

University Liaison Committee Meeting – December 8

COKO's University Liaison Committee is a forum to facilitate information sharing between COKO and educators across the province. Members of this Committee come from the various universities and colleges offering kinesiology or similar programs. If you're an educator and are interested in joining the committee, please contact us.
