National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

COKO honours the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We recognize our responsibility as a healthcare professional regulator to foster respectful, culturally safe environments for patients/clients and commit to ongoing learning and action toward reconciliation.

COKO hosts first Council meeting at new office

COKO team was thrilled to welcome Council members to our new office for a two-day Council meeting. Over the two-day session, Council members participated in essential training to reinforce their understanding of public protection, governance best practices, and Council oversight. They also addressed key regulatory matters and made important decisions in support of the College’s public protection mandate.

Final Reminder: Last day for late renewal to avoid license suspension

To avoid a suspended license, please complete the online renewal form and pay the required fee before the deadline: September 30 at 11:59 p.m. (EST) — even if you plan to request a change in your class of registration. If renewal is not completed by the deadline, your license will be suspended.

Keep you and your patients/clients safe: Seasonal Respiratory Pathogens Guide

Respiratory viruses such as COVID-19, influenza, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) are expected to become more prevalent from November through April.

As a regulated healthcare professional in Ontario, you should protect your health and the health of your patients/clients and colleagues. This includes staying informed about current guidance and best practices for preventing and managing the spread of seasonal respiratory illnesses. To support you in this role, the Ministry of Health has created a Seasonal Respiratory Pathogens Guide.

Share your insights: COKO seeking CPD suggestions

As a Registered Kinesiologist, it is important to keep your knowledge and skills up to date, and to demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvement. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) learning is self-directed—you are encouraged to select learning activities based on their own needs and goals, and to reflect on how learning impacts their practice.

To better support your professional development, COKO is seeking feedback and suggestions from kinesiologists on CPD content. Your input will help inform the development of future resources and learning opportunities that are relevant, practical, and aligned with your practice.

As part of our continued commitment to public protection and professional excellence, we would like to share a brief refresher on key responsibilities related to sexual abuse prevention—an essential component of your professional practice and one of the important themes of COKO’s eLearning modules.

Welcome our returning public Council members

We are pleased to welcome back Victoria Nicholson and Teresa Bendo as returning members of Council. They will each serve another three-year term.
