Crepe Myrtles are one of the most common plants in our area of the planet. They are hearty with spectacular blooms and relatively trouble-free. However, insects like aphids and scale-like them as much as I do. Both are easy to control if caught early. My weapon of choice is the Ferti-lome Tree & Shrub Systemic Insect Drench.

Also known as a red bug, berry bugs, harvest mites, scrub-itch mites, and those low life, belly crawling, pond scum sucking…Chiggers are such an irritant that the US Army has a fact sheet on them.

It's Back...All-Natural Pet Dip Day

April 12th

Join us on the 2nd Saturday of each month for our FREE DIY Pet Dip Day. The all-natural pet dip will be ready around 10 a.m. and will last until 4 p.m. on the porch. Wells Brothers will supply the dip, but you must dip your own pet (dogs and cats only, please). This year we are using an all-natural product called Cedar Cide. Stop by and stay on top of flea and tick control by dipping your pets.

Ready to start your backyard flock? Attend our Backyard Chicken Meeting! We will discuss the new City of Plano Chicken Ordinance. Bob Wucher from Purina Animal Nutrition will provide a Backyard Flock 101 lesson. From starting a flock to transitioning to layer feeds, and how to keep egg production high. If you’re currently raising chicks, or thinking about starting a flock, you’ll want to attend this informative meeting. This workshop will satisfy the education requirement required by the City of Plano, to raise backyard chickens.
