Join the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation for the 2020 UnGala at LAUNCH!
Greetings credit union friends, and happy new year!

We hope your calendars are marked for the Carolinas Credit Union League's LAUNCH conference on Februrary 3 - 5!

The Foundation's virtual UnGala will be held on Friday, Februrary 5, at 11 a.m.! Your ticket to the LAUNCH conference is all you need to join our session of celebration and inspiration as we recognize the achievements of our 2020 state-level CUNA Awards winners and hear from inspiring guest speaker, Jason Brown, a former NFL star turned community advocate.

About the Speaker
Jason walked away from a successful seven-year career in the NFL to pursue his calling on a different field, creating First Fruits Farm, a 1,000-acre farm with a vision to sow seeds of love in North Carolina and beyond. With this vision, Jason has donated over 2 million servings of fresh produce with the help of thousands of volunteers. Jason will share his journey and how he, his wife Tay, and their eight children are demonstrating how to live a life of purpose.

The UnGala will be emceed by Coastal Credit Union Chief Culture & Impact Officer Creighton Blackwell and Foundation President Lauren Whaley.

Sponsorship opportunities for the UnGala are available, with all funds raised supporting the operations of the Foundation.

Foundation and chapters collaborate on giving back
The credit union chapter system in the Carolinas is doubling their community impact with matched grants to support local non-profits through the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation’s Community Grant Program. The Foundation relaunched the Community Grant Program in 2020 to aid many local non-profits. 2020 matched grants were provided to the Cape Fear, Columbia and Northwest Chapters of Credit Union.
Phase III Grants & FREE financial counseling for all employees
The Foundation is announcing a final Phase III grant, available to past applicants who are still experiencing financial hardship, bringing the total COVID Relief Grant amount for a household to $3,000. In addition, the Foundation is partnering with GreenPath Financial Wellness, a leading national nonprofit organization, to provide access to free, one-on-one financial counseling, debt management services, and financial education resources for all employees of North and South Carolina credit unions.

We encourage you to download the Foundation’s partnership flyer with Greenpath and disburse internally to your credit union employees.

2020 Operational Supporters - THANK YOU!!
The Carolinas Foundation has made such a tremendous impact in our nearly 30 years of serving credit unions, employees and members. And that success is because of those that support the Foundation's operations each year through the League's dues process. The Foundation would like to extend its sincerest appreciation to the following operational supporters in 2020. Thank you for your continued dedication!

As we gear up for another year of service, I ask that you again commit your support of the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation through the League dues process. We have come a long way together, standing firm and focused on our mission to empower and inspire credit unions in the Carolinas through collaborative opportunities to enrich our communities.

The Carolinas Credit Union Foundation was incorporated in 1993 as a charitable organization dedicated to the embodiment of the “people helping people” philosophy of credit unions. Its mission is to empower and inspire credit unions in the Carolinas through collaborative opportunities to enrich our communities. The Foundation serves as a founding partner to Victory Junction, a year-round camping facility, located in Randleman, NC, for children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses. Over the last 16 years, more than $5 million has been raised by credit unions in the Carolinas to support its camp and outreach programs. The Foundation also serves as a partner in philanthropy with credit unions, assisting charitable giving through donor-advised funds, managing scholarship programs, supporting small credit unions with professional development grants, and aiding disaster relief for the local, national, and global credit union communities.
