Thank you to all of our incredible community partners, vendors, and supporters who joined us at Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley Open House 2025! 💙

Your time, energy, and commitment to youth made the day a huge success — from interactive booths to exciting activities, your presence brought joy, learning, and inspiration to our members and their families. Events like these are only possible because of dedicated partners like you who believe in the power of community and the mission of the Club.

A very special thank you to the Knights of Pythias for sponsoring our barbecue and grilling hundreds of hot dogs for attendees. Your generosity and hands-on support truly brought the spirit (and the flavor!) to life! 🌭🔥

Check out this past month's highlights:

-Blythe Elementary-

Following the success of our Smash Bros. tournament, we kept the excitement going with a Super Mario Kart showdown! With its easy-to-learn gameplay and classic characters, the new tournament welcomed all members, bringing in both fresh faces and returning pros. The energy was high, the matches were fast-paced, and the room was filled with laughter as players raced, jumped, and powered-up through each round.

In the end, it was no surprise that Aldo, our resident Super Mario Kart expert, took the win. Not only did he defeat every member who challenged him, but he also faced off against the coaches in a thrilling final match—and won! GG to everyone who joined in and helped make another unforgettable tournament.

MARTIAL ARTS

Our martial arts program introduces children to the world of self-defense and discipline. Through engaging activities and expert instruction, kids learn fundamental techniques, improve physical fitness, and develop essential life skills such as focus, respect, and self-confidence. The program provides a safe, supportive environment where participants gain practical skills in striking and blocking, and also explore the history and philosophy of martial arts. Ultimately, children grow physically and personally, building resilience, perseverance, and self-esteem both on and off the mat.

-Justice Elementary-

At Justice Street Elementary, our "Healthy Habits" program recently featured an engaging activity called "My Healthy Self" and Rainbow Fruit Skewers. The goal was to help youth explore what it means to live a healthy lifestyle and create their own personal vision of health. Each participant designed a colorful fruit skewer, choosing from a variety of fresh fruits. The activity sparked meaningful conversations about making healthy choices, and the highlight for everyone was enjoying their delicious, hand-made fruit creations!

MEMBERSHIP ORIENTATION

During summer camp at Reseda Elementary Boys & Girls Club, each day is an opportunity for members to explore, learn, and discover new aspects of themselves. The Club has begun diving into all five core areas: Education, Health & Wellness, Character & Leadership, Art, and Sports. Members have reconnected with old friends, built new friendships, and created wonderful memories. The first week was filled with engaging activities, laughter, and fun. We look forward to making even more memories this summer!

-Mosk Elementary-

During friendship week at Mosk Boys & Girls Club Summer Camp, campers created special BFF frames using popsicle sticks and decorations to hold photos with their best friends. Members are loving Arts N’ Crafts with Coach Addlis, where they get to showcase their creativity and celebrate friendship. On Wednesday spirit day, they’ll capture fun moments with their BFFs to place in their new frames. It’s been a week full of smiles and shared memories!

ARTS N’ CRAFTS: BFF FRAMES

-Woodland Hills Elementary-

To kick off the first week of summer camp, all of our members got to experience an exciting, action-packed BMX Show! The high-energy performance featured jaw-dropping tricks, impressive stunts, and interactive moments that had everyone cheering and engaged. Members were thrilled to see professional BMX riders in action, sparking excitement and positive energy throughout the day. It was the perfect way to launch summer and set the tone for a fun-filled, memorable camp season!

-Teen Center-

Kicking off summer camp, we had the privilege of watching a live BMX show. Beyond the thrilling tricks and stunts, the performance offered insight into the sport’s culture and style. For some members, it was inspiring enough to motivate them to start riding their own bikes more often. The show was not only entertaining but also demonstrated the importance of daily practice, discipline, and creativity in one’s craft. Everyone had a fantastic time and left buzzing with excitement!
