| | Check out this past month's highlights: | | In celebration of the upcoming Earth Day, our members took an active role in assisting teachers with a hands-on art project: creating a large, collaborative forest using recycled cardboard boxes. Working together, they transformed the boxes into a sturdy base and structure for a tree. Using brown cut paper, students carefully shaped and layered the pieces to form textured bark and branches, securing each element in place with clear glue. This creative, eco-friendly activity not only encouraged teamwork and artistic expression, but also reinforced the importance of sustainability by repurposing materials to bring our Earth Day vision to life. | | EcoForest Earth Day Creation | | -Gary M. This month at Justice Street, students dove into an exciting STEM activity centered around DNA. With licorice and gummy candies as their tools, they built edible DNA models while exploring the structure of the double helix and the way base pairs connect.
The hands-on nature of the activity sparked curiosity and enthusiasm. Students stayed actively engaged, asking thoughtful questions and sharing insights as they constructed their models. The experience made the complex concept of genetics both approachable and fun.
To top it off, they enjoyed their sweet creations, making the lesson even more memorable. It was a fantastic way to blend science, creativity, and a little bit of candy-fueled fun!

During Big Buddy Little Buddy, members used 3D art materials to create their own versions of the beloved Toy Story character “Forky.” Our 3rd-grade members provided guidance and support to kindergarten members, working together to bring each unique vision to life.
In addition to arts and crafts, Big Buddy Little Buddy at Mosk also emphasizes literacy activities, including mini-book creation and storyboarding. Kindergarteners have the opportunity to strengthen their fine motor skills and express their creativity, while 3rd- to 5th-grade members build leadership and communication skills as positive role models within our Mosk Boys & Girls Club community.

| At Reseda Elementary, we kicked off an exciting new enrichment program called DrumBus! Through the power of drumming, DrumBus empowers children to discover their rhythm, reach their full potential, and thrive both in school and beyond. | | |
The LA Rams recently brought excitement and energy to the Boys & Girls Club after-school program at Serrania Elementary with a one-day football clinic for TK through 5th-grade students. Led by Rams coaches, the clinic focused on promoting physical activity, teamwork, and self-confidence through engaging, hands-on football drills.
Over 100 eager participants took part in the event, which concluded with a mini showcase where students proudly demonstrated the new skills they had learned. What made the day truly memorable was the rare opportunity for young athletes to connect with professional NFL coaches, leaving them inspired and empowered through the power of sports in a fun, encouraging setting.

| -Woodland Hills Elementary- | | On Friday, April 11, just before Spring Break, Woodland Hills Elementary hosted a vibrant and educational Multicultural Festival, led by our 4th and 5th grade members. Over several weeks, students worked in small groups to research a country of their choice—many selecting places connected to their own heritage. They created displays and gathered small items to share with their peers as they walked through the festival. Parents were invited to join in and witness the creativity and cultural pride their children poured into the project. The event was filled with excitement, learning, and celebration as students proudly presented their work and shared pieces of their backgrounds with the school community. | | This month, we had the privilege of conducting a financial literacy program that offered numerous benefits, including improved money management, reduced stress, and the ability to make informed financial decisions. A strong foundation in financial literacy can lead to greater financial security and increased discipline in managing personal income. The goal of this program is to equip our members with the knowledge and tools to begin their journey toward financial stability. | | | -Canoga Park High School- | | |
The Boys & Girls Club proudly supported a Holi celebration hosted by Canoga Park High School's ASB on April 11th. The event celebrated cultural diversity and brought students together through the vibrant traditions of Holi, also known as the Festival of Colors.
Approximately 50 students participated in the celebration, which featured music, dancing, and a joyful color powder toss that transformed the school field into a rainbow of excitement. The program created a space for students to connect, express themselves, and experience a global tradition in a fun and inclusive way.
This unique partnership with ASB was a wonderful opportunity—and a great experience for all involved.

Our Robotics team at Chatsworth High School competed in a major tournament in early April, facing off against more than 50 other schools. After months of hard work, they earned a spot in the top 10—an incredible improvement from last year! Throughout the semester, the team dedicated countless hours to brainstorming, designing, and building their robot to perfection. | |

Our recent Ice Cream Social was a sweet success! Open to all members in 9th–12th grade, the event took place right after school and ran until 5:30 PM.
The goal? To give students a fun and relaxing way to wind down after a busy day. Members dropped by to enjoy ice cream, connect with friends, and take part in a low-pressure, welcoming environment. Some even joined in a friendly round of Jeopardy!
Whether they stayed for the whole event or just stopped by for a quick treat, everyone had the opportunity to socialize, make new connections, and simply enjoy the moment. We’re looking forward to hosting more events like this to keep the good vibes going!
