Academy Award nominee, Golden Globe winner, and star of several motion picture blockbusters, Taraji P. Henson, shows class, grace and resilience in her life's hustle required to make it from DC to Hollywood, and the joy of living in her own truth. Lately she’s been making her mark as an outspoken advocate for mental health, with which she has openly expressed her own struggles. Henson started the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation — named for her late father, who struggled with his mental health after returning from the Vietnam War — in order to help eradicate the stigma that keeps many in the African-American community from seeking help with their emotional well-being. We are highlighting Taraji because she is strong, resilient, a fighter and she worked tirelessly towards achieving her goals & aspirations. When she faced obstacles, she overcame them and never gave up. She is a incredible role model for young women and all women, especially those of color, as they navigate the challenges on their way to achieving their own successes.
Here's to you and your excellence, Taraji!
