Rhovonda, as we pause to reflect on Juneteenth—a day that symbolizes freedom and emancipation—I’m reminded of the spiritual freedom we have in Jesus Christ. This is the perfect moment to reintroduce the Walking in Freedom! Devotional emails—written to encourage women like you to turn your heart back to God, draw closer to Jesus, and allow Him to be Lord over every area of your life. My heart’s desire has always been to encourage women.

True freedom begins with surrender.



We cannot walk in freedom without first surrendering our will and heart to the Savior. But when we lay it all down before Him, we discover what it truly means to be free. Jesus reminds us in Galatians 5:13 that we were called to freedom—not to live for ourselves, but to serve one another humbly in love.

So, as we celebrate Juneteenth, let’s also celebrate the freedom Jesus died to give us. Let’s live it out. Let’s walk in it. Let’s walk in freedom—boldly, joyfully, and intentionally—serving God first, and loving others well.
