We are delighted to share the exciting news of the newest program additions:
- Electrician: Gain hands-on experience with our electrician program, covering the entire spectrum of electrical work!
- HVAC: Students will learn the basics of HVAC systems to advanced techniques, while preparing them for the EPA 608 and NATE certifications.
- EMT: Gain emergency medical technician training through hands-on training and ride-alongs with our County approved EMT program.
All of the courses above can be completed in one semester or less, and because the Electrician and HVAC courses are grant funded, the cost to participants will only consist of an administration fee of $300 - tuition of $5,000 has been waived!

In the 2018 CAP, the City committed to updating the CAP every five years. The CAP update process has been initiated. Currently, a new baseline greenhouse gas emission inventory and projected emissions estimates are under development.
As the City develops new targets, goals and measures for the CAP, staff will seek public input and suggestions on the actions the City can take to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The City will host a number of workshops and public hearings for community members to share their input on the CAP update.
Opportunities to participate in the process will be announced as meetings and events are scheduled.

Traffic Alert!
El Camino Real Z-Crossing Project
Starting January 16th (weather permitting), El Camino Real, between Encinitas Boulevard and Via Molena, will undergo construction. Expect the reduction from 3 to 2 lanes in both directions during non-peak traffic hours (9 am to 3 pm) for approximately 3-4 weeks.
Please anticipate potential traffic delays along this segment of El Camino Real during the construction period.

Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operations (MEHKO) |
The County of San Diego, Department of Environmental Health and Quality (DEHQ) is hosting a training on the new, permanent Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operation (MEHKO) program.
This training will be held virtually through Microsoft Teams and will include information on the current State allowances for MEHKO operations and new ordinance language updates, as well as the steps needed to obtain a permit, followed by time for questions and answers.
