Through SOCAL and a grant from San Diego/Imperial County Community College Consortium, we are offering our members the free opportunity to participate by highlighting a high-demand

Jon Kochik has served on the Board since 2018 and is currently its Secretary. He is committed to environmental efforts, from waste reduction to ocean health, knowing that every action benefits this unique coastal environment which makes him being Chair of the Environmental Sustainability Committee a perfect fit.

wildfire and outage preparation. His focus is on promoting renewable energy, offering backup power for homes and businesses, and encouraging clean energy upgrades to make sustainable choices more accessible.
Jon is deeply engaged in community service often partnering with nonprofits on initiatives like climate literacy, green transportation, and emergency preparedness. And to help preserve the “magic” of Encinitas, which he describes as a community bonded by shared goals, he volunteers - you can’t miss him volunteering at Encinitas Oktoberfest often in his lederhosen!
With two active kids in the community, Jon is proud to watch them appreciate the special qualities of Encinitas, just as he does.
