Senior Citizen of The Year Award | |
City of Encinitas Senior Citizen Commission In Partnership with Encinitas Rotary Club “Senior Citizen of the Year Award”
Award nomination is for volunteer service accomplished in the past year for Encinitas residents only, with additional consideration of achievements in previous years.
Nominations for 2022 are accepted February 1, 2023 through March 16, 2023.
Nominations will not be considered after 4:00 pm June 1, 2023.

Leucadia 101's New Board President | |
Leucadia 101 Mainstreet Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Brad Hanson as its new board president. Hanson was appointed by a unanimous vote at the January 24, 2023 board meeting. Hanson’s predecessor, Kevin Doyle, will remain on the board as a board member.
In his new role, Hanson will serve as a liaison between Leucadia 101 Mainstreet Executive Director Brittany Corrales and the Leucadia 101 Mainstreet Board of Directors, oversee execution of the annual plan, assist with day-to-day activities and help manage the Leucadia 101 Farmers Market.

On Saturday March 4, 2023, join us for the Inaugural kick-off for the Cardiff Farmers Market from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the MiraCosta College Campus parking lot, 3333 Manchester Ave. Every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The Cardiff Farmers Market, sponsored by The Cardiff 101 Mainstreet Association, will feature approximately 60+ vendors every week. Visitors to the market will have the opportunity to select from a large variety of fresh, locally produced, healthful produce including locally grown fruit, vegetables, eggs, honey, fresh flowers, and other goods.

The purpose of this joint training between the City of San Diego Office of Labor Standards Enforcement (OLSE) and County of San Diego Office of Labor Standards & Enforcement is to introduce each agency’s OLSE program, structure, contact information, websites, resources, and laws enforced to businesses operating in the San Diego region. The goal is to educate San Diego employers and businesses of the wage and labor laws enforced by each agency. The outreach will include a guest speaker, Jennifer Shaw from Shaw Law Group, to provide a summary of California labor law updates going into effect in 2023. | |

The Internal Revenue Service offered a lifeboat of sorts Tuesday to California residents and businesses floundering in the atmospheric river: More time to pay their income taxes.
The agency announced that taxpayers in any county covered by a federal emergency declaration would have until May 15 to file their income tax returns for 2022. So far, 31 of the state's 58 counties are in that group, including Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego and Ventura counties; if the declaration is extended to more counties, the IRS will grant them the extra time as well.

SANDAG prepares and updates a Regional Plan every four years in collaboration with the 18 cities and County of San Diego, as well as regional, state, and federal partners. Now that the 2021 Regional Plan is being implemented, development of the 2025 Regional Plan is underway! The new Plan is slated for adoption in late 2025. | |
County supervisors unanimously approved an extension of SANDAG’s Youth Opportunity Pass program to include residents up to age 24. The pilot program offers free public transit rides to young San Diegans and was previously capped at age 18. It’s set to end this July, but has been proposed for 10+ additional years. | |
