Let’s make our streets safer for everyone! From September 23 through the November 15, you will again see bright and colorful banners and lawn signs popping up all over Marin asking people to keep their “Eyes Up” and be alert. These signs will be asking drivers to slow down, watch when turning and look for pedestrians in the crosswalk; bicyclists to yield to pedestrians and to follow the rules of the road; and those walking to pay attention when crossing the street.

The Eyes Up, Marin Campaign is part of the Street Smarts Program and Safe Routes to Schools, locally funded programs of the Transportation Authority of Marin

Ojos Arriba, Marin

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month

What began in 1968 as a week-long celebration was expanded to a month in 1988 and is now celebrated from September 15 to October 15. These dates are significant because many Central American countries celebrate their independence days within these dates, beginning on September 15 with Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

The month is often filled with cultural events like music and dance performances, art exhibitions, and festivals. It’s also a great opportunity to learn, reflect, and celebrate the traditions that enrich and shape our communities.

We’re Novato Proud to honor our Hispanic community members and recognize their vibrant histories, cultures, and contributions.
