Has your brain ever convinced you that it remembers exactly how to complete a task?

Perhaps it whispered to you that checklists are for beginners, newbies to the department. And you’ve been doing this long enough that it would be downright embarrassing to be seen following a checklist.

And so of course you agree with your brain and complete the task without a checklist or a look-up in your SOPs. I mean, especially when you're busy, who has time to find and follow a checklist or look up the procedure!

Where in the World are the Loan Files?

Remember when “file stacking” was actually a Thing?

Or did I just date myself?

In case that was (ahem) before your time – it used to be that there was a specific order in which a given loan’s physical files were stacked. That way, it was easy to find what you were looking for, and easy to see if something was missing.

Fast forward to our digital era, and … okay, where did that loan document end up?

Benjamin Franklin had it right.

A little organization can go a long way and save some of the valuable time needed to address customer servicing requests, new loans for processing and those pesky purchasing packages.
