Einstein on Peace: "...I have become a kind of enfant terrible in my new homeland, due to my inability to keep silent and to swallow everything that happens there." "Unfortunately, the most farsighted among the people in this country have been so intimidated by the pseudo-patriotic pressures to which they have been exposed that their scope for effective action has been greatly reduced."

The Earth Constitution and Human Liberation
Glen T. Martin

The authors of the Constitution for the Federation of Earth were clearly interested in human liberation. I knew some of these authors personally and can testify to their passion to "serve humanity" in this way. The focus on human liberation is quite obviously the conceptual energy behind the Earth Constitution for the entire document presents a systematic design for achieving the objectives outlined in its opening article: ending war and securing disarmament, protecting universal
human rights, diminishing social disparities and protecting our planetary ecosystem.
In my books and articles to date, I have often argued that the twin dominant institutions of today's world-global capitalism and the system of militarized sovereign nation-states systematically block and derail all efforts at human
liberation, including those embodied within the Earth Constitution.
The Constitution transcends both these institutions, the first by placing global economics in the hands of the democratically elected representatives of the people of Earth in the World Parliament who are constitutionally required to frame economics to serve the common good. It also transcends the second-militarized sovereign nation-states by placing them all under a federated government with a democratic World Parliament dedicated to actualizing all the fundamental ideals summarized in Article 1 of the Constitution...READ MORE

Rebranding the Democratic Party:
Call it the WAR PARTY
Ron Ridenour
|
|
EXCERPTS:
A dying FDR did not/could not stop the Democrat Establishment from stealing the presidential candidacy from the favorite—the popular, world peace promoter, and working class supporter—Henry Wallace. The Democratic party’s rich backers insured the handing over of the balance of the hugely popular but ailing president’s fourth term to the ignorant and thus malleable Harry Truman. This fool dropped atomic bombs on innocent Japanese civilians when Japan was already defeated and seeking to surrender, not in order to end the war but to scare the Soviet Union. Truman then went on to create the Cold War with Winston Churchill, which included the uncontrollable mass murdering mafia CIA/Deep State, and the launching of NATO.
In 1974, Truman told his biographer, Merle Miller, that the CIA “doesn’t just report on wars and the like, they go out and make their own, and there’s nobody to keep track of what they’re up to. They spend billions of dollars on stirring up trouble so they’ll have something to report on. They’ve become…it’s become a government all of its own and all secret. They don’t have to account to anybody…I think it was a mistake [for him to create the CIA.]. And if I’d known what was going to happen, I never would have done it.” Truman Was Right About the CIA | The Libertarian Institute
....Obama engaged in more war crimes than any other president: conducting seven wars at one time, continuing the two that his Republican predecessor George W Bush started, and adding five to his gun belt. It was also under his authority, with his comrade CIA Director John Brennan, that a grand jury was convened to indict Julian Assange. Biden is now seeking to have him extradited to US torture chambers, subsequent to CIA lack of implementing its plans to have him murdered when he was supposedly protected and “safe” in the Ecuadorian Embassy, in London.
The US/NATO refused all demands. US/NATO and their mass media refuse to recognize publicly that ever since Vladimir Putin became Russia’s president (2000), he has endeavored to be partners with the US, and even asked to join NATO, which every US president of both parties refused. ...
So, who votes to rename the former Democratic Party to be called by its right name: the War Party? TO READ FULL ARTICLE:

Former Bolivian President Evo Morales Calls for a Global Campaign to Eliminate NATO
|
|
In interview with British journalist, Morales says the U.S. uses NATO to provoke wars and sell weapons. U.S./UK-backed coup against him in 2019 was undertaken for lithium and because his government advanced an alternative economic model to the neoliberal “Washington Consensus”
In an interview with British journalist Matt Kennard at his home in El Trópico, a small town four hours from Cochabamba in the heart of the Amazon rain forest, former Bolivian president Evo Morales (2006-2019) called for an international campaign to eliminate NATO [the North Atlantic Treaty Organization].
According to Morales, this campaign should explain to people worldwide that “NATO is—ultimately—the United States. It is not a guarantee for humanity or for life. I do not accept—in fact, I condemn—how they can exclude Russia from the UN Human Rights Council. When the U.S. has intervened in Iraq, in Libya, in so many countries in recent years, why have they not been expelled from the Human Rights Council? Why was that never questioned?”
Morales continued: “We [in the Movimiento al Socialismo, MAS] have profound ideological differences with the politics implemented by the United States using NATO, which are based on interventionism and militarism. Between Russia and Ukraine they want to reach an agreement and [the U.S.] keeps provoking war, the U.S. military industry, which is able to live thanks to war, and they provoke wars in order to sell their weapons. That’s the other reality we live in.”...READ MORE...

Almost No One Trusts US Media, After Decades of War Propaganda and Lies
Ben Norton
|
|
EXCERPTS:
The CIA has long manipulated the media, spreading disinformation to justify
US wars.
Today just 11% of North Americans trust television news.
Very few people in the United States trust the mainstream corporate media. This is confirmed by a July survey from the major polling firm Gallup, which found that just 11% of North Americans trust television news, and a mere 16% have confidence in newspapers.
It’s quite easy to understand why. The US media apparatus has repeatedly shown itself over decades to be completely unreliable and highly politicized.
The corporate media’s treachery has been especially clear in the demonstrably false stories it disseminated to try to justify the US wars on Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria.
This disgraceful legacy continues today, in the proxy war that Washington is waging on Russia via Ukraine. Fake news echoed by the press has served as a powerful form of US information warfare.
Corruption is rampant and systemic in the United States. The Supreme Court ruled that corporations are legally considered people. This means there is no limit to how much money large companies and billionaire capitalist oligarchs can spend on politics.
In other words, bribery is essentially legal in the US political system. And candidates who have more money nearly always win the elections.
In the 2016 election cycle, 95.41% of candidates running for the US House of Representatives who spent more money won, while 85.29% of candidates running for Senate with more funding won.
According to any consistent definition of the term, this system cannot be considered a democracy. It is the textbook example of an undemocratic oligarchy and a plutocracy – a government ruled by the rich.
While the United States portrays itself as the paradigm of democracy and freedom, actual scientific studies by academic experts show that the opposite is true: The USA is an authoritarian oligarchy run by a small handful of rich capitalists, plagued by brutal systematic violence, mass repression, and rampant racism.
Yet the US empire seeks to impose its undemocratic model on countries around the world. Washington spends billions of dollars propping up corrupt right-wing dictatorships and bankrolling neoliberal opposition groups that use violence and other extremist tactics to destabilize independent foreign governments – especially socialist or nationalist states that use their natural resources to benefit their populations instead of Western corporations....READ MORE...

[Original title: "Is America's Destiny Manifest?"]
Is American Empire Out of Control, Criminal and Dangerous?
Michael Brenner
|
|
One of the GODFATHER’s most dramatic episodes is the ‘Day of the Long Knives.’ Michael executes a plan to liquidate all of the Corleone family’s enemies. Everybody from Barzini and Tattaglia to Moe Green and Carlo is eliminated in orchestrated acts of ruthless violence. The Corleone family then bestrode the criminal world – in unchallenged command.
There is a rough parallel to be drawn between that crescendo of murderous strikes in all directions and the United States’ current confrontations across the globe with foes big and small. Washington is simultaneously provoking mano y mano duels with multiple rivals. One is the faceoff with Russia whose epicenter is Ukraine while its scope is all of Europe – and its repercussions world-wide. At the same time, it chooses to raise tensions between the US and China to the boiling point by initiating a series of provocative moves that constitute a project to promote Taiwan independence. In the Middle East, it pulls the rug from under the negotiations with Iran and a possible revival of the JCPOA while building an avowedly anti-Iranian alliance with Israel, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. India, too, is placed on the Washington blacklist because of its refusal to obey commands that it join the sanctions war against Russia (going so far as directly to issue reprimands to Mumbai port authorities threatening penalties – by-passing Delhi). All of these hostile actions are accompanied by personal insults and offensive language.
The main difference between Michael Corleone’s all-out war and the American hegemonists’ flailing about is that the former was guided by a strategic plan with well-defined set of objectives. Washington’s storm of blows and threats demonstrates neither. It more closely resembles the tantrum of a juvenile filled with uncontrollable anger.
However, it is not entirely powerful emotions alone that are driving the United States. The hegemonists who now control Washington’s foreign policy are indeed passionate about retaining American global supremacy. That means stymying all challengers and, when necessary, taking coercive measures designed to isolate and to subdue them. So, each policy initiative is not impulsive or random. They all derive logically from that overarching ambition. Let’s look at Ukraine from this perspective.
On the surface, it would appear that the Biden administration is in a dilemma. For it has ruled out any negotiation with the Russians that might include territorial concessions and formal stipulation of Ukraine’s demilitarization and neutrality. At the same time, the U.S. and its allies – along with the Zelensky government propped up by ultra-national factions and needled by NATO – assert unequivocally that the fight must go on to clear the country of Russian occupation right back to the 2014 borders. The latter is a military impossibly as is recognized privately by nearly all parties. Given the irreconcilability of those two givens, what do officials in Washington plan to do, hope to achieve?
Evidence is mounting that irresolution itself is their objective. American leaders want the war to continue. ...Read More
