Einstein on Peace: "...I have become a kind of enfant terrible in my new homeland, due to my inability to keep silent and to swallow everything that happens there." "Unfortunately, the most farsighted among the people in this country have been so intimidated by the pseudo-patriotic pressures to which they have been exposed that their scope for effective action has been greatly reduced."

LEGENDARY E P MENON OF 8000 MILE PEACE WALK FAME
E P Menon shown on left with WCPA President Dr. Glen T. Martin
The President of the World Constitution & Parliament Association, Dr. Glen T. Martin, is meeting E. P. Menon in New York City on June 15, 2022.  Menon plans to go to the United Nations with the EARTH CONSTITUTION.

WCPA visionaries spent 30 years drafting the Constitution for the Federation of Earth (aka EARTH CONSTITUTION) which is being proposed to replace the defective UN Charter in order to form a "new UN" with the capacity to end war between nations, eliminate nuclear weapons, and retire militarism.

Menon, along with his friend Shri Satish Kumar, walked 8000 miles for world peace and nuclear disarmament between 1962-1964. Obviously, more is needed to accomplish peace, so Menon will make a stop at the United Nations carrying with him copies of the EARTH CONSTITUTION.

In Kuensel (India newspaper, 9/18/21) we offer...
"Pilgrimage for Peace: The Long Walk from India to Washington: Some Personal Reflection"... a few EXCERPTS regarding the amazing 8000-mile peace walk.

>It was an ordinary 1961-afternoon in Bangalore when two friends decided to go for a cup of coffee that led them to a discussion on the most monumental challenge facing the world then – nuclear weapons. Ninety-year old Nobel Laureate Lord Bertrand Russell had been imprisoned for protesting against the bomb and refusing to pay the fine ‘for disturbing the peace!’

>Deeply unsettled by the incident, E P Menon and Satish Kumar resolved to do the craziest thing in the world – walk from Delhi to Washington to urge the nuclear powers to undertake a complete ban on nuclear weapons and work for peace instead!

[Pilgrimage for Peace: The Long Walk from India to Washington (2021), written by devout Gandhian, founder of the iconic Schumacher College in Devon, England, and the foremost holistic education global thought-leader today, Shri Satish Kumar, is an incredible account of the 8000-mile peace-mission that would be forbidding beyond words for ordinary mortals.]

>What is more? The pilgrims vowed not to touch money or carry any food with them throughout the entire journey. Acharya Vinobha Bhave had assured them that human goodwill and native generosity would see them through from end to end.
On 1st June 1962, my friend E P Menon and I stood at Mahatma Gandhi’s grave in New Delhi. We had decided to walk to Moscow, Paris, London, and finally to Washington DC, hoping to meet the ‘peace president’, John F Kennedy.

And,

On 6th January [1964], we arrived in Washington and, instead of stopping at the White House, we walked on to Arlington Cemetery and concluded our long walk to Washington. It was a walk from Gandhi’s grave to Kennedy’s.

Finally, on 2nd October 1964, we arrived in Delhi and went to Gandhi’s grave at Rajghat. Again, a big crowd of Delhites joined us to celebrate the final moment of our 28-month-long journey of ‘Jai Jagat’, long live the world.  READ MORE...
Government is the Ultimate Teacher:
Buffalo, Uvalde, Ramallah, and Ukraine
By Fritz Pointer
A ram may bully with its heart instead of its horns.
Ghanaian Proverb
The government of a nation teaches the whole people. Parents, teachers, spiritual leaders, scholars, journalists, coaches all attempt to teach our youth, our children; but the government teaches the whole people. How can Biden, Putin, Zelenskyy, or Bennett, with their hands and mouths dripping with blood, declare that ‘violence is not the answer?’ Especially, as they are spending billions on war and mass death; providing a clear, unambiguous, lesson that, to them, violence, killing, and murder is the way to solve problems, whether real or imagined. These government leaders certainly believe that violence is a solution to problems and disagreements.

United States Supreme Court Justice, Louis Brandeis in the early 20th century makes clear: “government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. If the government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a lawbreaker; it invites every man to become a law unto himself.”

If, for example, a POTUS can be elected after being heard on tape bragging about grabbing women in their private parts, the chances of respecting the autonomy of women are slim to none. When a POTUS defies the laws of science and scientists every Tom, Dick and Harry becomes, an expert, a law unto himself, and fighting Covid becomes a personal, private matter.

The murderers in Buffalo, N.Y., Uvalde, TX, Ramallah, Palestine and Ukraine learned their lessons from their government, this time under teachers like POTUS Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett and President of Russia, Vladimir Putin; and, we must include on this list, President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Each one of them a War Criminal and guilty of Crimes Against Humanity. Each one of them without an ounce of mercy or compassion, for the people suffering for their arrogance and hubris. And, like the individual criminal, a nation’s defiance of International Law, as promulgated by the United Nations (UN), the International Criminal Court (ICC), or International Court of Justice (ICJ) “invites every [country] to become a law unto [itself]”. Defying, undermining, even sabotaging, some of the major institutions providing the infrastructure for “International Law” the “creation of a world government” Einstein spoke of as the “only salvation for civilization, or even the human race.”

Ajamu Baraka, Black Agenda Report editor and columnist and Green Party Vice Presidential candidate makes the following observations. “It is important that we understand that the racist assault on the Black community in Buffalo did not occur in a socio-cultural or political vacuum. The premeditated murder of thirteen human beings, eleven of them Black, by a young white man wearing a sonnenrad or black sun, one of the symbols of white supremacy that the white supremacists wear in Ukraine, had a perverted logic perfectly consistent with the values of the U.S. settler-colonial project. And while the liberal, white supremacist settler corporate press tries to muddle-up the connection between the Buffalo shooter and Ukrainian white supremacists, we must make the connection, including the attempts to obscure the relationship by the media, and we must be clear on its political implications.”

Baraka questions, as should we all: “Morally, what is the difference between the attack on Libya by NATO, an instrument of white supremacist state power that resulted in up to 50,000 African people dying and was largely supported by the public in the West, and the mass shootings of (Dylann) Roof and Payton Gendron?” The Charleston, S.C. mass murderer and the Buffalo. N.Y. mass murderer, respectively.

Danny Haiphong, BAR contributing editor, adds: “And the fact that Payton Gendron was wearing a white supremacist Black Sun symbol so commonly seen on the uniforms Nazi Azov fighters in Ukraine is no coincidence. White supremacy is a global system of social control that is directed at any person, government, or movement (Russian, Chinese, Black American, Muslim, Arab, etc.) that is perceived to threaten the domination of Euro-American imperialism. Joe Biden is a champion of and supports this system.”

Indeed, as noted by Ben Norton, journalist at the Grayzone, in December 2020 and again in November of this year (2021) the UN General Assembly voted on the Resolution â€œcombating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fueling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance.” In 2020, 130 countries voted in favor of the resolution, 51 countries abstained, and 2 countries voted against the resolution. The latter two were Ukraine and the United States.

Yes, “a ram” or a government may “bully” with its horns, its weapons, even weapons of mass destruction. Or it may “bully” with its heart; that is, with compassion, helpfulness, mercy, and love. The West has yet to reach this level of Civilization. Which is why when asked what he thought of western civilization, Gandhi replied: “I think it would be a good idea.”

Gandhi’s precocious and precious pupil, Martin Luther King, Jr., warned us, prophetically, with what far too many take as simply oratorical or poetic pabulum. In his memorable speech in Memphis on the eve of his death, King expressed in clear terms the urgency and necessity of non-violence: “Men for years now have been talking about war and peace. Now no longer can they just talk about it. It is no longer a choice between violence and non-violence in this world, it is non-violence or non-existence.”

Kissinger Nails It. For Once.
Do you know why Henry Kissinger’s speech at the World Economic Forum touched-off such a furor?

Kissinger didn’t criticize the way the war in Ukraine is being conducted or the lack of progress on the ground. No. What Kissinger criticized was the policy itself, that’s what triggered the firestorm. He was throwing a bucket of cold water on the people who concocted this loony policy by telling them to their faces that they “got it wrong.”

And, they did get it wrong, because the policy they are currently pursuing is hurting US allies and US interests. That is the metric we use to determine whether a particular policy is stupid or not and, unfortunately, this passes the “stupid test” with flying colors.

Let me explain: Our basic strategy is to “weaken” and “isolate” Russia by severing Russia’s economic ties with Europe and goading them into a long and costly quagmire in Ukraine. That’s the plan.

Now you might think that it sounds pretty reasonable but– according to Kissinger– it’s the wrong plan.

Why?

Because US National Security Strategy identifies China as America’s number one rival (which it certainly is) so, naturally, any policy that makes China stronger, runs counter to US strategic interests.

Got it? So, the question is: Does our proxy-war in Ukraine make China stronger?

And the answer is: Of course, it does. It makes China alot stronger because it forces Russia to strengthen relations with China.

What does that mean in practical terms?

It means that relations between the world’s manufacturing powerhouse (China) and the world’s second biggest producer of hydrocarbons (Russia) just got a helluva alot better because of Washington’s counterproductive war in Ukraine. That’s what it means. It also means that– as relations between the two countries improve– the pace of US imperial decline is going to accelerate as the non-dollar zone expands and bilateral trade gradually replaces the current US-dominated global trade system.

You can see this happening already. The war in Ukraine has triggered a shocking collapse in global trade, major disruptions in critical supply lines, unprecedented food and energy shortages, and the greatest redivision of the world since the breakup of the Soviet Union. Washington has decided to stake its future and the future of the American people on a senseless geopolitical gambit that could turn out to be the greatest strategic catastrophe in US history.

Kissinger grasps the gravity of the situation which is why he decided to put in his two-cents. But he wasn’t just critical of the policy, he also offered an ominous warning that has been almost entirely ignored by the media. Here’s what he said:

“Negotiations need to begin in the next two months before it creates upheavals and tensions that will not be easily overcome. Ideally, the dividing line should be a return to the status quo ante (
) Pursuing the war beyond that point would not be about the freedom of Ukraine, but a new war against Russia itself”.

There it is in black and white, but let’s break it into two parts to get a better sense of what he’s saying:

  1. The policy is wrong
  2. The policy must be changed immediately or the damage to the US and its allies will be severe and permanent. (“Negotiations need to begin in the next two months”)

That might sound too apocalyptic for some, but I think Kissinger is on to something here. After all, look at the massive changes the world has already experienced since the conflict began; the disruptions in supply lines, the food and energy shortages, and the rolling-back of the globalization project. Pretty big changes, I’d say, but they’re probably just the tip of the iceberg. The real pain is still ahead of us.

What is this winter going to look like when home heating bills go through the roof, industries across Europe succumb to the higher energy costs, unemployment soars to Great Depression levels, and rolling blackouts become a regular feature of life in the west? That’s what the future holds for Europe and America if the policy isn’t reversed and a negotiated settlement quickly reached.

Putin has already stated that Russia will not put itself in a position where it is economically dependent on Europe again. Those days are over. Instead, he is redirecting critical energy flows to China, India, and beyond. Europe is no longer a priority customer, in fact, they have emerged as a threat to Russia’s survival, which means, Russia will continue to reorient its production eastward. [...]

The article, Kissinger Nails It. For Once, can be read on globalresearch.ca.
Let's start with maybe the best-known example. In 1977 Carl Bernstein published an article titled "The CIA and the Media" reporting that the CIA had covertly infiltrated America's most influential news outlets and had over 400 reporters who it considered assets in a program known as Operation Mockingbird.

It was a major scandal, and rightly so. The news media are meant to report truthfully about what happens in the world, not manipulate public perception to suit the agendas of spooks and warmongers.

But it only got worse from there.

Nowadays the CIA collaboration happens right out in the open, and people are too propagandized to even recognize this as scandalous. Immensely influential outlets like The New York Times uncritically pass on CIA disinfo which is then spun as fact by cable news pundits. The Washington Post has consistently refused to disclose the fact that its sole owner has been a CIA contractor when reporting on US intelligence agencies as per standard journalistic protocol. Mass media outlets now openly employ intelligence agency veterans like John Brennan, James Clapper, Chuck Rosenberg, Michael Hayden, Frank Figliuzzi, Fran Townsend, Stephen Hall, Samantha Vinograd, Andrew McCabe, Josh Campbell, Asha Rangappa, Phil Mudd, James Gagliano, Jeremy Bash, Susan Hennessey, Ned Price, Rick Francona, Michael Morell, John McLaughlin, John Sipher, Thomas Bossert, Clint Watts, James Baker, Mike Baker, Daniel Hoffman, David Preiss, Evelyn Farkas, Mike Rogers and Malcolm Nance, as are known CIA assets like NBC's Ken Dilanian, as are CIA interns like Anderson Cooper and CIA applicants like Tucker Carlson.

The Department of Homeland Security's hotly controversial Disinformation Governance Board, which critics have not-unfairly labeled a government-run Ministry of Truth, has "paused" its operations pending a review in light of public outcry. That review will be headed by corrupt imperial swamp monsters Michael Chertoff and Jamie Gorelick, of all people.

No government entity has any business appointing itself the authority to sort information from disinformation on behalf of the public, because government entities are not impartial and omniscient deities who can be entrusted to serve the public as objective arbiters of absolute reality. They would with absolute certainty wind up drawing distinctions between information, misinformation and disinformation in whatever way serves their interests, regardless of what's true, exactly as any authoritarian regime would do.

Whatever happens with that review we may be sure that the board's mission will continue, either under its current name or under some other more carefully disguised iteration. The empire is expressing far too much enthusiasm for greater and greater control over public thought to just let this one slip past.

So information warfare. The US government is funding information warfare to manipulate public perception of this war and running cover for those manipulations by calling them activism, journalism, and independent media.

Given that the mainstream western press have been uncritically reporting even the most outlandish stories coming out of Ukraine without a shred of evidence, we can expect this government-funded propaganda to spread throughout the western world.
Down Pentagon's Memory Lane: Napalm Them.
EXCERPTS (ASTORE'S TALK TO AIR FORCE ACADEMY GRADUATES)

"What does this old light colonel, who’s been retired for almost as long as he wore the uniform, have to teach you cadets so many years later? What can I tell you that you haven’t heard before in all the classes you’ve attended and all the lectures you’ve endured?"
"How about this: You’ve been lied to big time while you’ve been here at the Academy."
"And yet shouldn’t we airmen also reflect on the bombing of Germany during World War II that killed roughly 600,000 civilians but didn’t prove crucial to the defeat of Adolf Hitler? (In fact, Soviet troops deserve the lion’s share of the credit there.) We should reflect on the firebombing of Tokyo that killed more than 100,000 people, among 60 other sites firebombed, and the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki that, both instantly and over time, killed an estimated 220,000 Japanese. During the Korean War, our air forces leveled North Korea and yet that war ended in a stalemate that persists to this day. During Vietnam, our air power pummeled Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, unleashing high explosives, napalm, and poisons like Agent Orange against so many innocent people caught up in American rhetoric that the only good Communist was a dead one. Yet the Vietnamese version of Communism prevailed, even as the peoples of Southeast Asia still suffer and die from the torrent of destruction we rained down on them half a century ago."

"Turning to more recent events, the U.S. military enjoyed total air supremacy in Afghanistan, Iraq, and other battlefields of the war on terror, yet that supremacy led to little but munitions expended, civilians killed, and wars lost. It led to tens of thousands of deaths by airpower, because, sadly, there are no such things as freedom bombs or liberty missiles."
"If you haven’t thought about such matters already (though I’ll bet you have, at least a little), consider this: You are potentially a death-dealer. Indeed, if you become a nuclear launch officer in a silo in Wyoming or North Dakota, you may yet become a death-dealer of an almost unimaginable sort. Even if you “fly” a drone while sitting in a trailer thousands of miles from your target, you remain a death-dealer. Recall that the very last drone attack the U.S. launched in Afghanistan in 2021 killed 10 civilians, including seven children, and that no one in the chain of command was held accountable. There’s a very good reason, after all, why those drones, or, as we prefer to call them, remotely piloted aircraft, have over the years been given names like Predator and Reaper. Consider that a rare but refreshing burst of honesty."  TO READ THE FULL ARTICLE:

The looming climate-security crisis in South Asia

ï»żExtreme weather has been called a ‘threat multiplier’ — feeding into existing social and political problems and making them even worse.
Written by Sam Fraser and Anatol Lieven
Largely unnoticed by the Western public, a disaster is building in South Asia with the potential over the long term to dwarf the global impact of the war in Ukraine.

Average April temperatures in northern India and Pakistan were the highest since records began 122 years ago. Large parts of India and Pakistan faced temperatures exceeding 40°C (104°F), while several cities in Pakistan recorded temperatures just under 50°C (122°F). So high were temperatures that a huge landfill near Delhi
spontaneously combusted, adding a pall of toxic smoke to the dire effects of the heatwave on public health.

This is in line with scientists’ predictions concerning the particularly early and powerful effects of climate change on South Asia and the Persian Gulf. A quarter of the world’s population — almost two billion people — live in that region. An ecological catastrophe that destroys states and societies there will have dreadful consequences not just for those people but for the world as a whole, including the United States.
