Greetings!
Let's discuss kidney friendly diet options!

Please remember: Everyone’s body has specific needs and not one person’s needs are the same. ALWAYS consult with your doctor or dietitian to find the right kidney friendly diet for you. The information provided in this newsletter is for educational purposes only.
What is potassium and why is it important to you?
"It’s important to work with your dietitian to understand and manage your potassium intake. If your dietitian recommends a low potassium diet, incorporating low potassium foods in each food group will help you stay your healthiest. If your lab results indicate a low potassium level, your dietitian may recommend more high potassium foods."-The National Kidney Foundation

Low Potassium Diet Tips for Kidney Disease
"Most people aren’t concerned about potassium because healthy kidneys regulate potassium to keep blood levels normal. If you have chronic kidney disease (CKD) you may need a low potassium diet as your kidneys stop working. Not everyone has to restrict potassium though. It depends on your lab results and your kidney’s ability to remove potassium." - DaVita Kidney Care
