Updated Best Practices Publication

The “Prevention of Skimming & Card Data Compromise Best Practices, Version 3” is now available. The first release of this important document was in 2009, followed by an update in 2016. Skimming continues to be a serious threat to the ATM industry and consumers who rely on ATMs for convenient access to cash.

Publication of this critical update is very timely. Even just two years ago, fraud was only about 20% of all ATM attacks in the U.S. It has grown significantly and so far this year is 50% of all attacks. And 69% of those fraud attacks are skimming or card data compromise.
