Your Ticket To Springtide Is Calling

Head to Uxbridge June 12 to 14 for the Springtide Music Festival. With both free and ticketed events, the lineup boasts more than 60 Canadian acts performing on 12 stages along a 750 metre stretch of Uxbridge's downtown.


Catch launch party headliner Samantha Martin and Delta Sugar at a new festival venue—St. Andrew's Chalmers Church—on June 12. Reuben and the Dark and the Bullhorn Singers, and The East Pointers are among the other great acts performing over the three days.


Travel the Springtide Music Trail on June 14 for free events including live music, interactive workshops, family friendly activities, local vendors and artisans and a sidewalk sale across the downtown core.

Your Guide To Pride In Durham Region

Pride Month has officially kicked off in Durham Region. Everyone is welcome to celebrate inclusivity and community at the vibrant gatherings happening all around the region. 

Head to Durham Regional Headquarters in Whitby on June 1 to celebrate Youth Pride Durham. The afternoon will feature drag performances, a DJ, face painting, magic show, food vendors and a resource village.

 

Walk the parade route or cheer from the sidelines for the annual Durham Region Pride Parade on June 7. The colourful atmosphere will include dazzling floats and upbeat music. The fun doesn’t end there. After the parade, keep the celebration going at the Rainbow Market. Find the parade route and schedule here


North Durham Pride will celebrate Pride in Scugog on June 21 with its third annual march in Port Perry and events at Palmer Park. The celebrations will continue throughout the summer. Be a part of Brock Pride in Beaverton on July 12, while Uxbridge Pride will take place August 9.


On August 22, enjoy The Sunflower Farm's second annual Drag Show and Dance. It promises to be an unforgettable evening of fabulous entertainment, dazzling performances, spectacular costumes, and electrifying music.

Back this year is the passport adventure, brought to you by Durham Region Health Department in partnership with Durham Tourism and local municipalities. Download a digital copy of the passport and enjoy free events including public swimming, yoga by the lake, Zumba classes and new events such as baseball, horseshoes, netball and rollerblading/skating. Explore at least three events and you can qualify for a chance to win a new bike.

The 55th annual Canoe the Nonquon is taking place June 7 in Port Perry. Starting on the Nonquon River, there will be 12 kilometres of river paddling followed by an eight kilometre sprint along the shores of Lake Scugog to the finish line in Palmer Park. After the race, enjoy the Port Perry Farmers Market, a BBQ and awards ceremony and an “After the Paddle” party at Two Blokes Cider

Oshawa’s Peony Festival blooms June 7 and 8 at the Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens. Besides offering the largest collection of curated peonies in Canada, there will be entertainment, food vendors, artisans and market vendors as well as a judged peony flower competition.
