FDA Grants Breakthrough Designation to Rapid Test for Xylazine, Veterinary Sedative Fueling Overdose Crisis


A Pennsylvania diagnostics company received a Breakthrough Device Designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its new rapid urine test to detect xylazine, a veterinary sedative increasingly mixed into illicit drugs that complicates overdose responses.
