MSU DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
PROFICIENCY-BASED EDUCATION
(PBE) SUMMER SYMPOSIUM
June 16 - 18 | Bozeman, MT | Details & Registration

PBE is changing the way we educate students in Montana. Newly passed Chapter 55 standards call on educators and leaders to articulate and measure what students know and can do because of having that knowledge. This is the centerpiece of proficiency-based education.

You and your colleagues (literally, bring an entire team!) to MSU to learn from educators, school leaders, and trustees who have already begun to implement proficiency-based, competency-based, and/or standards-based approaches in their schools. We often learn best in community with others. Come, be part of this community-wide conversation.

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT the breakout session led by Melissa Tovaas, SSoM Executive Director, and Dr. Jeannie Chipps, MSU Education Department: Prioritizing Montana's Whole Child Skill Development Competencies Alongside Content Standards

BIG SKY LITERACY SUMMIT
Aug 21 - 23, 2023 | Big Sky, MT

Join School Services of Montana, Collaborative Classroom, and educators from across the region at the Big Sky Literacy Summit this summer!

Get ready for a magical Montana Science of Reading event for teachers and leaders addressing timely and important topics that will help you meet your students’ academic needs, build more equitable systems, and learn how to intensify and target instruction due to lost time, especially for those with differences and disabilities.

The Summit is hosted by The Transformative Reading Teacher Group and The Reading League Montana and together we are excited to present an impressive international lineup of scientific mentors, innovators, teachers, coaches, and literacy leaders addressing how to make systems and instructional changes that impact your life and the lives of the students you teach.
JOKE OF THE WEEK
Father's Day is just around the corner - June 18th to be exact - so we're celebrating
early and offering a little vindication for all the dad joke lovers out there. Enjoy!

Even though dad jokes are a little cliche and more punny than funny, they’re something of an art form.
