Cultivating Impact through Inventory Innovation!

Our newest team member Sweetie Maurillo is making a BIG impact with our partner farmers! Sweetie went to Cebu City, Catmon, Aloguinsan, and Babag to conduct a comprehensive inventory of our seed stocks. This initiative aims to ensure the availability and effective management of seeds for agricultural purposes among all BASS and CSS members as well as other partner farmers.

Supporting Farmers for a Sustainable Future!

Our collaboration with Cebu Seed Savers at Pestales Agriculture Cooperative in Argao was a pivotal moment. Led by Hal Atienza, our PH Executive Director, the session redefined our approach to Seed Sovereignty and shaped CSS’ ambitious workplan for the year ahead.

Together, farmers embraced community seed work, recognizing the critical role of Seed Sovereignty in preserving traditional varieties. This synergy led to the creation of a comprehensive 2024 Annual Work Plan, complete with clear indicators and monitoring mechanisms, ensuring our actions are impactful and measurable.

This session not only enlightened participants about farming complexities but also underscored the urgent need for support and assistance in agriculture. Global Seed Savers' initiatives are not just about supporting communities; they're about ensuring food and seed sovereignty for generations to come.
