Official Rules for FAHA 2023!

Dear Franchise Partners,

It is our pleasure to announce the prizes and official rules for the 2023 Fantastic Sams Artistic Hairstyling Awards (FAHA). This year’s contest is bigger than ever with outstanding prizes provided by our vendor partner, Farouk Systems!

FAHA is an opportunity to feature your talented stylists and salon culture on a local and national platform. FAHA is also a powerful recruiting tool as today’s stylists seek additional creative outlets.

As we continue to elevate our brand, we’ve made exciting changes to the contest this year! Each contestant will receive a gift box of products worth approximately $50.00 from Farouk systems upon submission of their entry fee. Each category winner’s salon will receive a stand up banner featuring the entrant’s work. The Stylist of the Year’s salon will receive an additional banner featuring their accomplishment!

In addition to the incredible category prizes, the 2023 Stylist of the Year prize will be unprecedented: The 2023 Stylist of the Year will receive a professional photo shoot at the Farouk Systems studio in Houston, Texas! This includes a 3 day/2 night, all expenses paid trip with round-trip coach airfare for one person, a standard hotel room and meals included. Winner will be provided with a professional model, a professional photographer who will take photos for winner’s portfolio and will provide professional photo touchups. The approximate prize value is $8,000 USD.

How to Enter:

Eligible participants can begin entering on May 1, 2023. Entries will close 5:00pm PDT on August 1, 2023. All stylists who enter must be at least 18 years old, be a licensed stylist, and be employed at an eligible Fantastic Sams salon. All entries from COR (corporate-owned salons) must use CHI color in their entries. Participants may enter into as many categories, as many times as they wish. Submissions will be made virtually through the website.

Social Media Tip

Question: I have a ton of photos but don't know when or what to post. What should I do?

Answer: If you're taking photos of your guests often, posting is easier than you may think! Don't worry about fancy transitions in videos or complex collages. A single image of a finished head of styled hair (the "After" photo) is all you need to keep your social feeds active and relevant.

The fun videos and lengthy hair transformation posts are also great, but don't miss out on updating your social media because you are short on time. Take a picture of a great style in bright, natural light (be sure to capture the full head of hair, don't zoom in) with a clean background — and post!
