The Volunteer Connection

Spring 2024

Hello Friends!

We hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather! Spring is a season of renewal and growth, a time when the world awakens from its winter slumber and bursts forth with new life. Just like those spring perennials, we've learned that our community keeps growing, persisting, and renewing, with the help of volunteers like you!

Did you know that the week of April 21st is National Volunteer Week? This is a week of celebrating all the impacts *you*, our community's volunteers, have made! HandsOn celebrates this service and the impact that volunteers and nonprofts make each year with our Forsyth County Governor's Volunteer Service Awards breakfast. We hope you will join us for that celebration on May 7th--tickets and sponsorships are still available--and it's always one of the most feel-good events of the year!

Yours in service,

Victoria

Celebrate Global Volunteer Month!

2024 Global Volunteer Month

Every April, Points of Light and its Global Affiliate Network, of which HandsOn NWNC is a part, recognizes volunteers who actively support their communities and inspire civic action around the globe. Global Volunteer Month is a time to celebrate volunteers as well as inspire volunteerism. It provides the opportunity to shine a spotlight on how individuals taking action can create meaningful change, while calling on others to help build a more connected, just, and peaceful world. Throughout the month of April, many of our partner nonprofits will be recognizing their own volunteers at special events. Meanwhile, HandsOn will be sharing the profiles of the nominees of our Forsyth County Governor's Volunteer Service Awards on social media, as well as honoring them at the breakfast on May 7th, so be sure to follow us on Instagram or Facebook!
