Love God....Love Others

There is a chasm that exists between people. It is a deep divide that keeps us from being in relationship with one another. Many people seek ways to increase the expanse rather than seeking ways to close the gap. We divide over all kinds of things. We split over politics, race, religion and values just to name a few. Rather than embrace the schisms, we can be bridge builders. We can be the kind of people who fight for unity and love others because of our connection with and example of Jesus Christ.

Volunteer of the week

Mandy & Victoria Hodge

Mandy and Victoria teach our Toddler Church class at 11am every Sunday morning. Toddler Church is more than just "Play Doh and ring pops". Every week our Toddlers sing songs, memorize Bible verses and learn all about God's love through the Bible stories specifically geared for this age group.

Thank you Mandy & Victoria for all you do.

Each week in 2023 we will highlight one or two of our great volunteers.

Volunteer of the week

Gabe Hodge

Gabe assists Pastor Rebecca with the 5th & 6th grade class during the 9:30am service. Gabe's job is to keep order and to make sure everyone has fun.

Thank you Gabe for all you do.

Ministry Opportunity

Join our food distribution team (9am-12pm) at the Gladwin Christ the King Lutheran church (600 S M-18).

Saturday, March 18, 2023

holy-communion.jpg

Communion will be served the first Sunday of the month.

The elements are prepackaged, with both wafer and juice in a single two-part container.

Communion participants peel back one seal to remove the communion wafer.   A   second   seal under the wafer is then removed for juice.

The Alabaster Offering provides funds for property and buildings around the world. While we understand the church consists of the people of God and not a building, buildings erected for the purpose of ministry help provide a sense of permanence, functionally enhance ministry efforts, and convey an attitude that the Church of the Nazarene intends to "put down roots."

Alabaster funds are to be used for new churches to:

   •   Purchase a property or church building

   •   Purchase or build a church parsonage

   •   Build a church building

   •   Conversion of a property into a church gathering space

   •   Meet initial costs for renting a church meeting space for a limited period

Alabaster funds may also be used to:

   •   Purchase or build missionary homes

   •   Purchase or build regional or field missions facilities

   •   Build or repurpose buildings on Bible college campuses

Beaverton Nazarene has an active Senior Adult ministry.

Our senior adults are an essential part of many ministries within our church and an important part of our church body. The purpose of this ministry is to promote spiritual, physical, intellectual, and emotional growth through a variety of wholesome activities that will stimulate seasoned adults and ensure that they feel esteemed and included.

Upcoming Activities sponsored by the Senior Adult Ministries.

March 9 Butterfly House at Dow Garden (weather permitting) Pot Luck at the church will be our back up plan

April 25 Senior Adult trip to Central Michigan Softball Game

Alabaster March

Alabaster March will be on the first Sunday of March. The old time Church of the Nazarene use to have a "march" to collect the Alabaster offering. On March 5 we will "march" to the front of the sanctuary and place our offering into the big alabaster box.

Protect Young Eyes

PARENTS: Mark your calendar for a FREE event on March 19, 5pm-6:30pm at the church. Protect Young Eyes will be coming to our church for a presentation called, "The Digital Culture of Kids". This is for any parent or caring adults with children 18 or under. You don't want to miss this event! Register here: PYE

The Digital Culture of Kids: Building a Framework of Trust (Parents and Caring Adults, 14+)

Technology can do so much good in the world. But if not used well, it can also do so much

harm. Never before in human history have young people had the ability to so radically change

the trajectory of each other’s lives so quickly.

After 7+ years, over 1,500 presentations, testifying in front of Congress, and countless

conversations with parents, students, educators, and officers, PYE has discovered that

parental controls alone don't work and instead, there are 5 traits that often determine digital

success in many families. We call these 5 traits the Digital Trust Framework. What is Digital

Trust? Do you have it? How does it apply to conversations about social media? Pornography?

YouTube? TikTok? Our fast-paced talk will use stories, simple examples, and quick tips that

will give your family immediate actions.

Our desired outcomes include:

● Knowing the benefits of creating digital trust.

● Greater confidence leading your family in the digital age.

● Awareness of the hardware and software tools that support your digital goals.

Crisis Care Kits

In the aftermath of natural disasters, wars, famines, and other crisis situations, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries partners with local churches as they work to assist people in meeting short-term and long-term needs—both physical and spiritual—in the face of natural disasters and other emergency situations.

We have the opportunity to support Nazarene Compassionate Ministries in their mission by preparing and sending Crisis Care Kits to be utilized for individuals and families affected by crisis situations around the world.

Join the fun 11am-2pm

for kids age 4-12 years old.

This club is sponsored by The Beaverton Church of the Nazarene

to bring children together monthly

for a few hours of fun, games,

Bible stories and crafts. Lunch is served each month.

Kids Club planning meeting on March 5th 5-6pm at the church or by zoom to help plan our anniversary party in April and get feedback from volunteers on whats been working well and what we can improve on. Reach out to Kelsey with questions.
