Are you already in summer mode? ☀️ I hope this season is treating you well! I’ve got a couple of “once-in-a-lifetime” moments to share with you since my previous newsletter —both truly surreal in their own ways.

🎓 A Proud Mama Moment

I nearly cried watching "el cachorro de mamá"—my son—graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Engineering Physics. During that weekend, We attended not only one, not two, but three ceremonies: the general one at the stadium, the Grainger College of Engineering, and a small more intimate one only for Astronomy & Physics (brains everywhere, lol 😄).

He’s the first generation college graduate in the U.S. on both sides of our family. Even my father-in-law flew in from Mexico to witness the milestone. So proud!

🐋 Swimming with Whale Sharks?!

Yes, you read that right! I recently swam next to not one, but two majestic whale sharks in their natural habitat. You can watch a fraction of the footage that our go pro camera captured under water here! It was beyond surreal.

If you ever want this magical experience for yourself, head to Isla Holbox, off the coast of Chiquilá in Quintana Roo, Mexico. Getting there was an adventure in itself and totally worth it.
