We are whole and holy
We are loved beyond all measure
And in our refusal to accept anything less
May we know we are rooted
In the infinite divinity
Not relegated to the outskirts
Of the web of all existence
But enshrined at its core
Enfleshed with stardust and fairy dust
An intentional creation of space where our any Gods live
We celebrate national PRIDE month with these words by Rev. Jami Yandle. Due to the dry heat our area PRIDE celebrations won't kick off until late September, yet we never tire of joining with Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer, PLUS folx to Engage, Love, and Transform the future together!
June 1 "Ease On Down the Road"
The Wizard of Oz takes us into June with this last Pulpitpalooza of our church year. All the Baja 4 ministers will be sharing (most via video) how we have and will ease on down the road.
Rev. Matthew & Jerry Leggett
June 8 "Don't Fear the Future"
We look back on our theme for this church year as we prepare for our Congregational Meeting following the service.
Rev. Matthew & Jerry Leggett
June 15 "The Grandest Paradigm Shift"
During Pride Month and Juneteenth celebrations, we're using race and gender as a lens to look at paradigm shifts. What do they mean for us and perhaps most importantly, what kind is next?
Iris Safehaven & Robin Bousel
June 22 "The Future Is..."
In preparation for our new church year on July 1, our Pastoral Associates will be reporting back on the Sunday themes for 2025-26!
Pastoral Associates
June 31 "General Assembly Worship"
As is our tradition, we will show our edited version of the Sunday service from our General Assembly or GA. GA is the annual gathering of faith tradition highlighting who we are and where we are going.

My Dear Mountain Vista UUs,
After a multistage process, nearly 20 applicants, and an afternoon of interviews, we have hired a new Engagement Coordinator, Emily Kessler.
Emily has already begun her work with welcoming, membership, and deeper engagement with our congregation. She's spent hours onboarding and learning about MVUU's structure with me. She's met with Stephanie Morales, our Congregational Administrator, her direct supervisor. She spent last Sunday morning with Barb Seyfried welcoming our congregation and our first time guests as they came to our church house.
In the coming weeks, Emily will be working alongside our current Welcomer lead, Lisa Bond-Maupin, to discover our best practices for guests. Later in the early fall, she will be working with me to develop a revised membership process. Then, before the end of this year, she'll be looking at how we continually deepen the engagement of all MVUU's members and friends.
When you get a chance on a Sunday morning, please introduce yourself to Emily. Let's show her what our MVUU welcoming is all about.
Rev. Matthew

Shar Phares, who offered us Dance Meditations during the winter months, will be presenting a single session workshop on the Magic of Finger Labyrinths. This is a calming, centering, and deeply integrating practice- a moving meditation for your hands. You will learn to dance with your fingers and discover the quiet power of this ancient path. It will be held on Tuesday, July 1 at 10 AM in the sanctuary.

Attention book people!
Since we now have a Little Free Library, it behooves us to keep it stocked with good children's books. Stacie Sosa and I are teaming up to help with that: check out the spiffed up laundry basket in the Oasis Room by the library. The children have decorated it to remind us to bring our children's book donations to the Little Free Library. Stacie will make sure that our LFL is replenished often enough to encourage repeat book-lookers.
Yours in community reading,
Melody Luepke and Stacie Sosa

Some MVUUers who attend Sunday services by Zoom would like to increase the sense of fellowship by remaining online after the service for our Social Hour. Bill Killian has agreed to facilitate a few times a month. Other host facilitators are being sought. Interested? Just stay online Sunday and we'll see what happens. On Zoom you will be able to mingle with others through chat, and we’ll get to wave to the sanctuary congregation. Hope to see you soon.

GIVE SOMEONE A LIFT
All of us need help at times. Your Pastoral Care Committee has become aware that we have several people in our church who are unable to drive for various reasons. If you are willing to transport people to church, and take them back home, please let me know. Some things you may need to take into consideration….can people with limited mobility get easily into your vehicle; or if they have a walker, is there space in your vehicle for the walker. If this is a ministry you think you would like to do in our church community, please let me know.
Peace,
Sally Wistrand
Pastoral Care Committee Chair
