A Message From TASC

President & CEO, Dennis Rutnam

Dear friends,

As we continue into 2026, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on this past year at TASC. Your continued support strengthens our ability to provide individualized services that respond to the real goals and daily experiences of the adults we serve.

Throughout 2025, our teams focused on person-centered support in employment, community participation, creative programming, and daily living. Progress often showed up in practical ways, whether that meant increased engagement in programs, clearer communication, or greater confidence navigating everyday routines. These changes may seem incremental, but they represent meaningful movement forward for the individuals we serve.

This past year also marked important expansion. We opened a second office in the Santa Clarita Valley and established additional locations in Mojave and Frazier Park, extending services further into Kern County. For individuals and families in these regions, expanded access means fewer barriers and stronger continuity of care within their own communities.

Connection remained central to our work. The Sports Tournament once again brought clients and staff together for a full week of teamwork and friendly competition. The Fall Festival provided an opportunity for clients to share their talents and celebrate alongside families, partners, and supporters. Monthly gatherings continued to strengthen relationships across programs and reinforce the sense of belonging that defines TASC.

As we look ahead to the rest of 2026, we remain committed to expanding access where it is needed most, strengthening advocacy efforts, and sustaining high-quality, individualized services across every location we serve. Your partnership continues to make this work possible.

We invite you to save the dates for two of our events this year: TASC’s Sports Tournament Finals on April 17, 2026 at Santa Clarita Central Park and our Fall Festival on the Farm on September 26, 2026 at the Sanctuary. More details will be shared in the coming months, and we hope you will plan to join us.

Thank you for being part of the TASC community. We are grateful to continue this work alongside you.

With appreciation,

Dennis Rutnam

President & CEO

Each February, we recognize Black History Month and honor the contributions, leadership, and cultural impact of African Americans throughout our nation’s history.

This recognition also includes the millions of Black Americans living with disabilities, whose voices, achievements, and advocacy have shaped movements for civil rights, accessibility, representation, and justice. The intersection of race and disability has often meant navigating additional structural barriers, yet Black leaders with disabilities have made lasting contributions across art, sports, business, activism, journalism, and public service.

Figures such as Harriet Tubman, who lived with epilepsy, civil rights attorney Haben Girma, Olympic champion Simone Biles, entrepreneur Daymond John, and many others have challenged assumptions and expanded representation in powerful ways.

At TASC, inclusion means recognizing the full identities of the individuals we serve and the communities we are part of. Black History Month is an opportunity to reflect on history, celebrate leadership, and continue advancing equity and access for all.
