Welcome Back FC Richmond!
WELCOME BACK
We are excited to welcome players and families back for the fall season! Pre-Season team training began this week for our travel teams. Recreational practices will begin the week of August 30th.

NEW TRAVEL TEAM COACHES
We are pleased to announce several new FC Richmond coaches. Welcome to the following coaches:

Carrie Molaka - U15 & U19 Mystx Elite
Bo Renes - U19 Magic Elite
Jesus Garcia - U11 Mystx Classic
Akram Molaka - U13 Magic Classic & U16 Mystx Classic
Taylor Sayegh - U13 Mystx Classic
Pete Gambardella - U14 Magic Elite (assistant coach)
Devyn Hannis - U16 Mystx Elite (assistant coach)

HYDRATION
Remember, as we get back to training that one of the most important things players can do is HYDRATE! Players should be HYDRATING before, during and after practice. Hydration begins the night before not only with water intake but also electrolytes. Pedialyte is a great choice for electrolytes that has lower sugar than Gatorade and Powerade. But Gatorade and Powerade are also good options. Also, getting the small, single serving Gatorade/Powerade powder that can be mixed right into their water jugs is a good option.

Congratulations Seniors
A huge congratulations to our FC Richmond seniors going on to play in college! These student-athletes persevered through a challenging year and are excited about their next steps!
Pro23 Update
The women's Pro23 season concluded with a record 1-3-2. The record was not at all indicative of the level at which the team performed. The quality of soccer was very good, but unfortunately the results didn't fall in their favor. Some particular standouts were Captain Haley Eiser in goal played outstandingly and Sophie Stroud, who had an edge in training, earned her minutes as the season progressed.

The Men's Pro23 season concluded in the league final vs Richmond United. The game was fantastic and although they conceded late to lose 2-1 this was the first time the men's team made the final! Great progress for the organization! They concluded their season with a record of 6-2 with notable wins over Loudon in the semi-final 5-1 and against Richmond United 2-1 in the regular season. Some very strong defensive work over the season with some special attacking play crowned the men as regular season champions of the Copa Division in the League. Some standouts from the season were Manny Akpeme and Will Collins on the attacking side of the ball. Manny was extremely dangerous on the break and Will couldn't be matched when attacking balls out of the air. The Midfield was led by our Central Midfielder Ryan Hall whose relentless work rate and ball retention made him a pivotal part of the attack and key player in breaking up the play in front of him. Finally, our goalkeeper Noah Sutherland was a stud between the sticks. His positioning was top class and his one vs one success rate was very high.

We wish all players involved the best of luck in their future endeavors! We will start reaching out to players for Pro23 early next year!
