Pursuing God's Purpose and Promises For Women

"Do not fear, for I AM with you; do not be dismayed, for I AM your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10
Welcome to Promise Helpers' April 2020 newsletter. We are in the middle of a pandemic from COVID-19, but we DO NOT have to live in fear! Nothing is a coincidence, nothing catches the Lord off guard, including this virus. Take a breath, step back, and remember what holiday we are celebrating in April... Resurrection Sunday! The time of year we celebrate Christ defeating Satan! Coincidence? What the enemy has meant for evil has brought Followers of Christ together. This virus has opened the door for Christians to share the Good News of Christ, to give hope to the lost and weaker Christians around us. The fields are ripe for harvest, dear friend! Share the Light and Love of Christ! Speak Truth- God's Word. Use whatever means you have available to stay in touch with fellow Christians. WE ARE THE CHURCH. The building we meet in is just a building for gathering. We must "gather" by other means for now. The enemy cannot stop us from spreading the Word of God! It may sound crazy but get excited to be a part of this time in history. Speak out loud every day Psalm 91 for the Lord's protection over you and your family. Embrace the circumstances where the Lord wants to use YOU for His Glory!

We obviously had to cancel our spring retreat, Pursuit 4:20 Dancing in the Rain. We will keep you posted of our plans for the retreat as soon as we can. We love you, and look forward to seeing you soon!

GOD Is In the Midst of the Chaos
by Debra Joyce

Today, as with any other day, we are faced with many choices on how we react to what is going on in the world. Each opportunity provides us a fresh chance to be open to God’s plan for this situation or to choose our own plan. GOD LUCK or good luck …which one do you want? Our own plans often get us in more trouble than actually providing solutions. Moment by moment, as we surrender our day to HIS control, we are in a position to receive from HIM. As we seek His guidance through prayer, reading His Word and LISTENING, Abba, our Father God, will provide His divine insights, guidance, protection, peace and more. His providential sovereign will is revealed concerning His plans and purposes for our lives when we seek HIM above all else!

FUN FACTS: "Do not be afraid" is mentioned 365 times in the Bible, one verse for every day! "Fear not" is found 114 times. "Joy" is mentioned 289 times. "Rejoice" is found 50 times.

Joy will replace the fear or anxiety we can so easily get caught up in when everything around us is chaos. Fear and anxiety are powerful feelings. They can be used as weapons formed against us by the enemy to kill, steal and destroy us. Every time Jesus rebuked the devil while in the wilderness, He spoke the Word of God. The Word of God is our sword, the weapon against our enemy. Be prepared: stay fully equipped in our spiritual armor, resist him, stand firm in our faith. Speak God’s Word to rebuke the enemy, in the name of Jesus and the enemy will fail. God has given us that power through the Holy Spirit because of the power and authority of the blood of Jesus Christ. Faith is the opposite of fear. Activating our FAITH in Jesus Christ in times of fear and anxiety is our weapon that will destroy the enemy and send him running.

NOW is the time to share this good news and help others find peace during the chaos in our world.

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power of love and a sound mind. II Timothy 1:7

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I say REJOICE! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God that transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus… put it into practice and Jehovah Shalom, the Lord Our Peace, will be with you. Philippians 4: 4-7, 8-9

Isaiah 54:17 …no weapon forged against you will prevail.

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. RESIST HIM! STAND FIRM in the faith because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 1 Peter 5:12

This is the day that the Lord has made. I will be glad and rejoice in it. Psalm 118:24

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you declares the Lord and will bring you back form captivity. Jeremiah 29: 11-14.

Because he loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him: I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me and I will answer Him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation. Psalms 91: 14-16

Blessings and JOY!

Book Recommendation
Do you need a book to read to help pass the time?
Joyce Meyer's book, The Mind Connection , is very fitting for the challenging time we are all experiencing at the moment. Taken from the back cover of her book, "Thoughts can seem random and meaningless, but they are connected to your well-being and impact your life every day. What you think affects your words, attitudes, decisions, and emotions. Your thoughts influence how you relate to yourself, to other people, and to God. The good news is that God has equipped you to take control of your thinking and increase your happiness.

In The Mind Connection , Joyce Meyer expands on the wisdom of her bestselling books Battlefield of the Mind and Power Thoughts to explain how to improve the quality of your thoughts and your life. She explores the undeniable connection between the mind, mouth, moods, and attitudes, so you can develop and maintain the right mind-set to overcome every challenge you face. Through practical advice and scriptural insights, Joyce will help you learn to think with purpose, gain greater confidence, and claim the joyful life you were meant to lead."

The book is divided into four sections, 21 chapters, of how your thoughts affect your outlook on life, the world around you, your physical and emotional health, and your walk with God. It is an excellent read that can help you further learn how to use your authority in Christ to trample "lions and the serpents".
