PAMELA, A MARKETING MANAGEMENT MAJOR

Greetings!


My name is Pamela Torres, and I am a sophomore majoring in Marketing Management at the Hartford Campus.


I am actively involved in student life and currently serve as President of Latino Students Association as well as the Social Media Manager for the World Culture Organization. In these roles, I work to create inclusive spaces for students, promote cultural awareness, and organize events that foster connection and community.


In addition to my leadership roles, I work for the School of Business as a Student Administrative Assistant, where I support students and staff while continuing to strengthen my professional and organizational skills. I am passionate about leadership, community building, and creating opportunities for students to engage and thrive at UConn.


I am excited to continue expanding my leadership and management skills while making meaningful contributions to the UConn Community.

Applications for the first-year women cohort of Werth Innovators is now open! Current first-year women UConn students from any major are eligible to apply. Participation will lead to opportunities to develop your idea through community, skills and resources, and mentorship.

Are you interested in joining a team to represent UConn in the A4S International Case Competition, where your ideas could be seen and heard by leaders from some of the world’s largest and most influential companies? If so, please read carefully.


This year’s challenge focuses on corporate decarbonization within the broader context of a fair and just climate transition. Students will work together as action-oriented problem-solvers to apply their business skills to one of the world’s greatest challenges.


Cash Prizes:

  • CA$10,000 for the winning team
  • CA$5,000 for runners-up


To participate:

The Werth Institute's NetWerx Program cultivates essential networking and other entrepreneurial skills through a student-driven mentorship model.


Students develop the skills they need to succeed in today's work environments, through networking, communication, accountability, and opportunity recognition, regardless of career path. NetWerx helps students recognize who they are, what they know, and who they need to know to develop their entrepreneurial skills and realize their potential. Skills include networking, self-confidence, communication, accountability, and opportunity recognition.

UConn Hartford Library


The UConn Hartford Library, a partnership between UConn and Hartford Public Library, offers students, faculty, and staff access to the collections and resources of both institutions. Located on the ground level of Hartford Public Library, enter through Arch St. diagonally from the Times Building Courtyard, the UConn Library provides research assistance, workshops, and study spaces. Students visiting the UConn Hartford Library should bring their UConn ID with them to enter the facility.
