Everyone deserves a place to call home.

Fiscal Year Closing

At Habitat for Humanity in Sanford, NC, we strive to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.  We choose housing as the means to put our faith into action because it’s a foundation for health, education, well-being, equality, and wealth of all people.  We joyfully invite people of all backgrounds, faiths, and no faith to join us in our work.

We are determined and brave, and we aim to solve the significant problem of affordable housing, leaving our community in a better state than we found it.  We are not afraid to roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty, doing the work and mobilizing others; we are builders, after all.  We believe our best days are yet to come, and we are working to create them.  We think deeply about how we build as well as the policies, materials, and products we use.  We thank all our partners for their support of our mission.  We can’t do it alone and need the support of the entire community.

This is what we have accomplished in the past 12 months with your support.

  • Two families became homeowners!  Congratulations!
  • Two families have homes under construction and are scheduled to close later in the year.
  • Seven critical home repairs were completed for elderly and disabled households on fixed incomes.
  • 2,737 volunteer hours were logged at our ReStore. Thank you!
  • 1,388 volunteer construction hours were logged on four building sites. Whew!
  • $7,000+ raised through our recycling program; every can counts!
  • $75,000 per home raised from ReStore profits generated by donated goods.
  • $61,000 received in monetary donations and grants.

Together, we build and finance homes, helping others build independence and financial freedom. Together, we build a better future.  Together, we build joy.

Every home we build costs around $200,000 in materials and skilled labor.  We not only build the house and cover the costs, but we also offer 0% financing with a no-down-payment mortgage.  This removes the barriers to homeownership in Lee County for low-income families.

This is where your continued support truly makes a difference.  We do not receive government funding of any kind and do not receive money from Habitat for Humanity International. However, we are supported by local businesses and individuals like you to make a difference.  Please consider donating today.

Blessings,

Kimberly Rau
