Membership dues deadline is January 1

It’s that time again. Your annual NEFAR membership dues are payable by January 1 to avoid any late fees or member status change. Your 2023 invoice was posted on December 1 to your NEFAR member account. Questions? Seats still available at NEFAR's Awards/Installation Gala

Start the New Year out right by attending the 2023 NEFAR Awards and Installation Gala on Friday evening, January 13, at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront Hotel. The cocktail hour will begin at 5:30 pm followed by the main event from 6:30 pm to 9 pm. The afterparty includes dancing with a DJ and will continue until 10 pm. The registration fee is $50, which includes free self parking, one free drink ticket, and a plated three-course dinner. Attendance at this spectacular event showcases the installation of 2023 NEFAR President Diana Galavis and her leadership team. In addition, participants will say goodbye to the leadership team led by 2022 NEFAR President Mark Rosener. NEFAR will also honor 18 award winners. So come enjoy this glittering gala that is being held for the first time at a venue on the St. Johns River. And don't forget to wear your dancing shoes!

Affordable Housing classes offered January 10 and 18

Learn all about the Hometown Heroes Housing Program in a class titled "Affordable Housing: What Every Real Estate Professional Should Know!" that is offered by Florida Housing.org. The format for this class has changed to a free three-hour webinar that will be held on Tuesday, January 10 from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm and on Wednesday, January 18, from 1 pm to 4 pm. REALTORS® will still receive 3 hours of CE credit for completion of the minimum required time of attendance, Submission of CE credit will be the responsibility of Florida Housing.

The Hometown Heroes Housing Program – passed this year by the Florida Legislature, signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, and strongly backed by Florida Realtors® – provided $100 million to the Florida Housing Finance Corporation (Florida Housing) to help the state’s hometown heroes buy a home. A number of occupations qualify for aid, such as law enforcement officers, educators, healthcare professionals, and active military or veterans who are purchasing their first home in Florida.
