Clean-up Day at the PHA Range on Saturday, September 7 is almost here.
Saturday September 7.

Yes, it's that time of the year. Time to do some clean-up at the range. We have quite a list of things that need to be done. The more volunteers that show up, the faster we can get back to shooting.

Here is a list of things we plan to address:
  • Get rid of the junk wood at the Tactical bays
  • Stencil the trash cans, attach tethers and distribute
  • Trim limbs and trees on driveways
  • Remove 2 stumps in front of thrower #7 at shotgun range
  • Replace the roofing on the storage building at 50/100 yard range
  • Cut up limbs and trees down in curve at 50/100 yard-range
  • Weed eating on drives and berms
  • Fill gravel at main gate and level out
  • Replace target wire at 100- and 200-yard ranges
  • Clean out contents of refrigerator in Ram building
  • Check and update all first aid and trauma kits

This is a lot of work but we can do it if we have enough volunteers.
We'll meet at the 100-yard range blockhouse at 7:30 am on September 7 and be done at noon. We'll break into groups and start in on our assigned tasks.
We'll provide water to keep you hydrated and lunch when finished.
Range Safety Officer Training
NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) training will take place on Monday, September 9 at the Ram building on PHA Range. Training will start promptly at 9 am and will last approximately 5 hours. There will be a one hour break for lunch (provided by PHA).

You must sign up for this training by September 4. Contact the Recording Secretary to sign up for this course. There are no fees for PHA members to attend and pass this course. It is suggested that you already be a member of the NRA.
Reminder
If you have not already renewed your membership, you must do that soon. The due date is September 1 but you have until September 30 to renew without penalty. Your envelope must be postmarked September 30 or before to avoid paying a penalty. If it is postmarked after September 30 then you must pay a $50 penalty in addition to the annual renewal fee.
Vintage Match Canceled
The Vintage Match will not be held this year. The previous Match Directors are not able to conduct this match.
Found...and Lost
FOUND: A plastic reloader has been found on the Range. If this is yours, please contact

LOST: A hard case for a S&W M&P 2.0 with 2 magazines and belt clip in the case. If you have found this, please contact Dennis Mueller and I will refer you to the potential owner.

LOST: A S&W .380 EZ pistol and a S&W .380 Bodyguard. If you have found either of these please contact Dennis Mueller and I will refer you to the potential owner.
If you have lost or found something at the Range,
here is what to do.

If you have found something like guns, rifles, ammo, range bags, or other shooting related equipment at the Range - keep them in your possession, but let us know what you have found. Please contact the Recording Secretary  , and we'll publish what you have found in the Range Report with a general description of the item along with information on how to contact you. Keep the item in your possession but do not disclose any details about the item. It will be up to the claimant to provide enough details about the item that convinces you it is their item. If it is clothing or something of that nature that you have found, place these items in the block building at the 100-yard range.

If you have lost something, contact the  Recording Secretary  and tell us what you have lost and we'll publish your information in the Range Report. Hopefully, someone will contact you to let you know they may have found it.

The Range has a pretty good record of lost items being found and returned to the rightful owner. So be a good Range member and help to return lost items to where they belong. You may misplace something one day and you will appreciate getting it back. Happens to all of us at some time or another.
