Come to Good Friday Worship
and the Way of the Cross
12 p.m. Worship (Chapel)
12–3 p.m. Prayer, Meditation, and the
Way of the Cross, Self-Guided (Sanctuary)
On this most solemn fast day of the church year, we gather at noon in the Chapel to remember Christ’s suffering and death on the cross. In preparation for Good Friday services, all decorations have been removed. The inexorable truth of Good Friday is that death precedes resurrection.
In addition to our service in the Chapel, you are invited to prayer and meditation in our Sanctuary, 12–3 p.m. We hope you will consider walking the Way of the Cross during this time, and booklets to guide you will be provided.

Food Collection in the Parish Hall and Donations by Check or Online
To meet our long-standing commitment to feeding the hungry, we have challenged each parishioner to collect 40 pounds of food or give $40 to support our feeding ministry during Lent. Our campaign concludes this Sunday. Please bring your food donations to the “40 Days” collection boxes in the Parish Hall. Donations of money can be made online with “Food Insecurity” on the memo line, or by check to St. Andrew’s, with “Food Insecurity” as the memo. Thank you for helping our neighbors in need.

A Peals for Peace: A Community Call to Prayer and Peace through the Ringing of Bells
April 6, 6:00–6:30 p.m.
On Easter Monday at 6 p.m., you’re invited to join St. Andrew’s and faith communities across the state in a simple yet powerful act: ringing bells and offering prayers for peace. For centuries, bells have called communities to prayer, marked moments of sorrow and celebration, and reminded people of God’s presence. In a time of uncertainty and division, the sound of bells ringing together across our communities serves as a gentle, powerful reminder that faith still calls us toward peace. Inspired by the quiet and humble witness of the Buddhist Monks’ Walk for Peace, this moment invites all faith traditions into a shared expression of hope, unity, and compassion. Places of worship with bells are invited to ring bells beginning at 6:00 p.m. for thirty minutes. All others are invited to step outside, ring any bell you have, pray, or simply pause and listen. Your participation—large or small—creates a shared, ecumenical witness for peace across our state.

Our Summer Youth Service Trip is June 21-26 in Charleston, SC!
The Deadline to Sign Up is April 10!
This summer, St. Andrew's middle and high school youth will be heading to a new location to serve, care for, and love on our neighbors in need: Charleston, SC! We'll be hanging with our friends at the Charleston Youth Mission (CYM). CYM is located in the Park Circle area of Charleston, which is packed full of local history, parks, shops, and more. We'll spend our days serving the Charleston community while learning more about one of the oldest cities in our nation, including economic and racial disparity in that city, and we’ll have time for reflecting on God's call for justice and equity for all. We'll wrap up our week with a beach day and some fun adventures. The cost of this trip is $200 per person, and scholarships are available—just contact Martha at the link below for more info.
If you are interested in going, it's time to sign up at the link below! Our signup deadline is Friday, April 10.

Curious about EfM for 2026–27? Come to a Drop-In Class
April 14 & 16, 6:00-8:30 p.m. (Chapel)
Openings are now available for our EfM groups for the 2026–27 year. We have scheduled two drop-in nights so those who are interested can preview the experience. On April 14 & 16 (6:00–8:30 p.m.), join us in the Chapel to engage in group discussion. This is a wonderful opportunity to see how the group functions and how we “do the work God has given us to do” through worship, reflection, and fellowship.
To sign up for a drop-in class, contact Brenda Swearingin for April 14 (336-423-6876) or Tricia de Beer for April 16 (336-457-4524). Note: If you would like to read the article for discussion in advance, copies are available in the church Library on the bookcase to the far left as you enter.
What is EfM? EfM, or Education for Ministry, is a four-year, small-group formation program based on study and practice in theological reflection. Developed by the School of Theology at the University of the South, EfM is designed to help the faithful discover the Christian tradition and bring it into conversation with their daily experiences. The program rests on the foundation that all baptized Christians are called to be ministers and provides the tools necessary to nurture that call to Christian service in the places where they live, work, and play. By participating, seekers become more theologically informed, reflective, and prepared to respond to the call of a Christian life.
