The Way of Love—Fall Formation
Sundays after Worship (Cloister)
Join us for our faith formation series exploring The Way of Love—a journey initially outlined by the wider Episcopal Church and Bishop Michael Curry. Grounded in our theme "Walk in Love," this series invites us to deepen our daily walk with Christ through intentional spiritual practices. Each week, we will focus on one of seven practices: Turn, Learn, Pray, Worship, Bless, Go, Rest. We meet on Sundays after church in the Cloister. All are welcome—come walk the Way of Love with us!
This Sunday, Mother Ginny will lead a conversation about the fourth practice, WORSHIP.

WORSHIP Gather in community weekly to thank, praise, and dwell with God
When he was at the table with them, he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. – Luke 24:30-31
When we worship, we gather with others before God. We hear the Good News of Jesus Christ, give thanks, confess, and offer the brokenness of the world to God. As we break bread, our eyes are opened to the presence of Christ. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we are made one body, the body of Christ sent forth to live the Way of Love.

EYC, Let's Show a Little Love with a Neighborhood Cleanup “Walk in Love”
September 28, 5-6:30 p.m.
Meet in Herman Hall
(Kensington Rd. Side)
We're leaning in to St. Andrew's fall theme, Walk in Love, with a neighborhood cleanup walk this Sunday. Let’s celebrate the return of fall by strolling around our church neighborhood and nearby park to clean up litter. Does that sound boring to you? How about if we divide up into teams and turn it into a no-holds-barred race to see who can collect the most trash in an hour, with the winners getting eternal bragging rights and first dibs on a delicious pizza dinner? See you in Herman Hall, Sunday at 5. We’ll bring the trash bags, grabbers, gloves, and pizza. You bring your determination to win! We’ll wrap up at 6:30.
P.S. This activity also earns one service hour. So send verification forms to Martha using the link below to claim your credit.

| | Anglican Cycle of Prayer: Province of the Episcopal Church of Sudan | | Christianity in the Sudan goes back to the earliest of times, with Coptic Christianity dating from the 2nd century A.D. Western missionaries came ages later. Within a year after the British victory at the Battle of Omdurman in 1898, the Church of England’s Church Missionary Society began their work at Omdurman, across the river from Khartoum, where the Blue Nile and White Nile join. From there they expanded southward from the overwhelmingly Muslim north. The country split in 2011, creating the nations of Sudan and South Sudan, and six years later, the two Anglican provinces (Sudan and South Sudan) were formed. In the Sudan, civil war again erupted in 2023, and now there is a standoff between the two major military forces, each claiming to have formed a Sudanese government. It is a catastrophic situation. In the face of this immense humanitarian disaster, the Episcopal Primate in Sudan, Archbishop Ezekiel Kondo, has managed to move limited funds to his scattered churches for food and medical supplies. | | |

When I Am Among the Trees
by Mary Oliver
When I am among the trees,
especially the willows and the honey locust,
equally the beech, the oaks and the pines,
they give off such hints of gladness.
I would almost say that they save me, and daily.
I am so distant from the hope of myself,
in which I have goodness, and discernment,
and never hurry through the world
but walk slowly, and bow often.
Around me the trees stir in their leaves
and call out, “Stay awhile.”
The light flows from their branches.
And they call again, “It’s simple,” they say,
“and you too have come
into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled
with light, and to shine.”
